SYNOPSIS: Set in 2007 New York, it follows the story of Clary Fray, a seemingly normal teenage girl living in Brooklyn, who, after her mother gets kidnapped, suddenly finds herself sucked into the world of Shadowhunters. She has to find her mother and to do that, she'll need the help of the Shadowhunters. And along the way, she will find out shocking truths about herself and her mother, that will forever change her life. Filled with action, drama, comedy and romance, it is a must-read.
This series is easily one of the best I've ever read. The characters are extremely well-built. You find yourself falling in love with them, even the ones who are not the lead characters. You care for them, you cry for them and you remember them. Always. Many fans have also fallen in love with the villain (CoLS), which is another proof of how well the characters are built.
The story is filled with twists and turns so violent, they take your breath away and leave you staring at the wall wondering what on earth happened. It is filled with all kind of love: familial, romantic and unrequited. (And please, when you read the end of City of Bones, do not DO NOT put the book down in disgust, okay? Keep reading.) Like, every character has their own backstory and each of it matters as a whole and even though it's a really big, grand plot, nothing is ever confusing. EVER.
And the last book was so good, so good, that I just can't! It was a perfect ending, a sad-happy ending and it broke my heart to pieces because it was amazing! Oh my God, the feels this book will give you....
Words can never ever express how much I love this series and what it means to me. The same goes for The Infernal Devices, TMI's prequel series.
So my suggestion is, go read it. You won't regret it.
P.S. I ship Malec so hard, SO HARD it hurts!
