Under the Never Sky

Through the Ever Night

Into the Still Blue

SYNOPSIS: Set in a dystopian future, the world has been invaded by massive electrical storms called the Aether. People could not live out in the open and many died, as the storms were extremely destructive. So, by a lottery, the government selected some people and gave them a chance to live in domes called Pods, great structures that are built in a way that the Aether cannot destroy them. There, the scientists have developed many new technologies. The people in the domes can now live for over 200 years as they age very slowly. Their nails don't grow. Children are made with extreme previous planning, and can be altered before birth. A parent can chose the physical attributes they want to have in their child. A way of entertainment is also developed for the Dwellers (the term for the people living in the domes) in the form of Smarteyes, with which a person can visit amazing virtual worlds and pretty much do whatever they want. Aria, a seventeen-year-old girl, lives in Reverie (one of the Pods). When her mother goes missing, she tries to find information regarding her whereabouts (which requires breaking the law) and in this attempt, comes face to face with a Savage (the Dwellers' term for a person from the outside world, the descendant of the people who were left out to die under the Aether). After their brief meeting, Aria is discovered and due to her disobedience, thrown out of Reverie. In the outside world, she meets the same Savage, whose name is Perry, and they must help each other, both reluctant and unwilling to do so at first, in order to survive and go back to Perry's tribe.

I love love LOVE this series. The story is so amazing and breath-taking. Perry and Aria's characters, along with minor ones like Roar, Brooke and Liv are very developed. Aside from the romance between Perry and Aria, there friendship is also commendable and that's another reason why I love this series. Friendship and loyalty is a main part of this series. It's not all about love. It's about the desire for freedom, loyalty to your people, humility, love and loss, among others.

The stories revolving the minor characters are so well developed that the characters don't feel minor at all, which I consider an amazing thing.

Into the Still Blue made my heart stutter like never before. Seriously, the last book is filled with a perfect blend of hope, love, loss, dread, panic, sorrow etc. My poor heart suffered so much. I've never heard it beat so oddly. This book wraps up the series perfectly, with neat ends and no loose threads.

All in all, an amazing book series that I will never forget.
