Austin appeared in my dreams again that night. This time, he was smiling a little more.'Hey Nica. Who would've thought it was Mark,' he said, frowning.
'I know right. I feel so betrayed. He and Samantha fooled all of us.'
He looked at me weirdly and shook his head. 'Not that. Oh never mind-you'll find out soon enough. Thanks for finding out who my killer was though.'
'I guess you have to leave now.' I said, feeling desperate for him to stay.
'I need to. I can't stay anymore. You don't know how much it hurts to watch you, knowing I can't reach you, with my parents calling in the background. I feel stuck in-between two trains speeding towards me-I have to move before I get crushed.' He said softly.
I suddenly felt very guilty and selfish.
'But who will stay and love me? I need you,' I cried out.
He smiled softly and stroked my hair. This time, his hand felt like air, as if it was barely there.
'There's someone else waiting for you. He probably loves you more than I ever could.' He said.
'No. No one can replace you. Don't leave.' I said, trying to hug him, but he was drifting away.
'Bye Nica.'
I stood there, in the white light and stared after him, my heart cracking slowly and painfully.
