Huh?

I opened my eyes when the pain I had expected didn't come. I closed them again. Either I was dead or something fucking crazy had just happened.

'You ok, back there?' Dad asked, still driving. His forehead was dotted with sweat and he looked exhausted as if he had just run a marathon. Austin, on the other hand, looked exactly the same as he had before.

'What the fuck just-'

'Watch your language, young lady.' Dad said sternly.

'You can't tell me to watch my language after you just tried to kill me!' I screeched, adrenaline making me bold.

Trust me, if I had said that any other day or time, my dad would've killed me. Or taken away my make-up which is pretty much the same as killing me so yeah.

'Chillax, Nica. That was just the entrance to our Training Base. Can't you see we're still alive?' Austin said.

'So is that why you two went all zombie on me?' I asked.

'Yep. Like in Harry Potter-you know the train station thing? Yeah we did that with science.' Austin replied, a smug look on his face.

'Ohhh that's so cool. Wait, how is that even possible?'

'Don't ask. Unless you're Rosalie, you won't understand the science behind it all. Heck even I don't know, I just go with it.'  Austin said, grinning at me through the rear-view mirror.

We drove in a dark tunnel until we reached what looked like a dead end. Dad got out and so we followed. The others pulled up right behind us in Mom's car and got out.

'Del Monte. Oz, Jorge, Sony, Mk, Ross. New arrival: Vero,' Dad said to the wall.

'What's going on now?' I asked out loud. This was getting boring.

'Shh!' everyone hissed at me.

Geez. A simple "shush" would've sufficed.

The wall disappeared as if it were just a hologram and Dad stepped in. Everyone walked into the dark little tunnel and I, seeing as no one had asked me to move, just stood there.

'Come on you!' Austin grabbed my arm and pulled me into the darkness.

I walked blindly, letting Austin guide me. I thanked the gods that it was dark because I didn't want another fight with Rosalie over this. Soon the darkness cleared up and a silver light came on from above.

'Welcome,' a robot appeared out of the silver light. Another hologram.

'Hello. My office, please.' Dad said.

'Have a nice day,' the robot said.

I blinked and suddenly the air crackled and we were transported to a glass room in a second. The walls were this shiny, clear red glass and so was the desk. Only the seats were made out of leather, white and very expensive-looking leather. The room was bare except for the desk, armchairs and one photo frame with our family on it.

'Sit down. All of you,' Dad said.

Everyone sat either on the leather couch or the armchairs on the one side of the desk. Dad sat on the other side of the desk and took out his wallet.

A holographic keyboard popped out of the wallet. I couldn't even act surprised because so many weird things had happened these past few days.

'OK I'm a bit busy today so I'm just going to give Austin access to the camera's around The Training Camp.

Dad looked at Austin coldly. 'Behave.'

He stood up left the room. Mom, Rosalie and Mark followed.
