A familiar wave of fear hit me as Mark fell unconscious.

'Don't...Mark! Mark wake up!' I screamed as Dad called an ambulance.

The ambulance got there in a matter of seconds. The paramedics put him on a stretcher and carried him into the vehicle.

'I'm coming with him.' I said.

'No. It will be too full,' said some brunette chick.

'Bitch you can't keep me from my brother. I'm getting in.'

The ambulance sped to the hospital as the paramedics kept Mark alive. They rushed him into the emergency room while I stayed with Rosalie in the waiting room.

'He can't die, he just can't!' I kept muttering as we waited for the doctor.

I paced around the room as horrible thoughts buzzing in my mind.

An hour later, a doctor entered the room and asked for his parents.

'They're not here but we're his sisters.' I said my heart racing.

'Ok he just came out of surgery and is in critical condition. Fortunately, the bullet didn't get very far. He'll be ok.'

'Can I see him?' I asked.

'Yeah, sure.'

He took me to the ICU and left me in Mark's room. His skin was as white as my crop top and his eyes were closed. He looked like a blonde vampire.

'Oh Mark,' I whispered touching his face.

He didn't even flinch. The only sound in the room was the beeping of the machines.

'Do you remember what you told me yesterday? You said it was too late but still I need to tell you something. I don't deserve you but thank you so much for always being there for me and...and... I think I love you too...'

For a second I expected him to wake up like in the movies but he didn't. I stood on my toes and kissed his cheek.

I walked to the door and heard him whisper, 'Nini.'

I looked back at him but he was still unconscious. I sighed and left.
