The Face-Stealer

After telling the others what had happened the previous night, they all agreed to sleep on it before coming up with new theories. In the morning, they all got up as early as possible and crouched down near the fireplace, as Hermione spoke first. "I've been thinking a lot" she said, and it looked like it. There were bags under her eyes, and she looked exhausted. "Either Mr. Crouch attacked you both, or it was someone else."

"It must've been Crouch" said Ron. "That's why he fled afterwards." "It couldn't have been him" said Aang. "He was just too-weak. He couldn't have gotten way on his own." "He must've been strong enough to Disapparate, though" said Ron. "He couldn't have" said Harry. "For the last time" said Hermione. "You can't Disapparate in the Hogwarts grounds."

"Well, how's this for a theory" said Sokka. "Krum attacked Aang and Crouch, and then stunned himself!" "Krum was stunned before Aang" said Katara. "I thought we talked about that enough times last night!" "Oh, yeah..." There was a moments silence. "Have you been hitting the cactus juice again?" Toph asked.

Immediately, they went up to the Owlery to send a letter to Sirius. As they watched brown school owl fly off, Harry said "If Snape hadn't held Yukio and I up, we would've made it back in time." "Maybe he didn't want you to get there" said Ron. "D'you reckon he could've gotten down to the forest before you and Dumbledore?" "Not unless he can become a bat" said Harry. "I've always thought he was a vampire" said Sokka.

"We need to see Moody" said Katara. "He probably was searching all night. He'll probably have some sort of answer." "Well, let's hope he had the Marauder's Map on him" said Harry. "Shh!" Hermione urged. There were footsteps coming from outside of the Owlery, and there were voices arguing.

"Isn't that blackmail? We could get in a lot of trouble for that!" We've tried being polite, but he won't listen. So, we have to play dirty like him!" "I'm telling you, if you write that, it's blackmail!" "Yeah, and you won't complain if we get a nice payoff for it, right?" The door banged opened, and Fred and George entered. They froze immediately at the sight of the others. "What are you doing here?" asked Fred and Ron together. "Sending a letter" said Harry and George. "What, at this time?" asked Sokka and Fred, who then grinned. "We won't ask you what you're doing, if you don't ask us."

As the twins went to walk by, Ron asked "Who're you blackmailing?" Fred's face dropped, as George said 'I was only joking." "If you're blackmailing someone, you need to tell me" said Ron. "You're starting to sound like our dear older brother" said George. "Carry on like tis, and you'll be made a prefect." "No I won't" said Ron angrily. "Then, stop telling people what to do" said George.

He tied the letter to an owl, before it flew off, and the twins left. "D'you think they know something about Crouch?" Katara asked. "No" said Aang. "If it was that serious, they'd tell someone." Ron looked down. "What is it, Ron?" Hermione asked. "I don't really think they would" said Ron slowly. "They're obsessed with making money, and-" "But blackmail..." said Harry. "It's the joke shop" said Ron. "They really want to start one. They need gold to get it started." "I don't think they'd break the law for money" said Aang. "I just get a sense off those two. They wouldn't do something that crazy."

After History of Magic, the gaang immediately headed towards the Dark Arts classroom, where they saw Moody walking out. "Professor?" Harry called. Moody turned, and said "Hello, Potter. I assume you want to talk about last night. Come on in." They walked back into the classroom, and Aang immediately asked "Did you find him? Mr. Crouch?" "No" said Moody. He drew his hip flask, as Harry asked "Did you use the map?" "Of course. Took a leaf out of your book. Summoned it from my office, and he wasn't on there. "So he did Disapparate" said Sokka. "No" said Hermione. "For the last time, you can't. There are other ways." Moody looked to Hermione, and said "You, Potter, and the Avatar all would make wonderful Aurors." Hermione turned red.
