Lost and Found | Dan x reader

Chapter 6 Talk

It's been 20 minutes since Phil went into Dan's ward. You are standing outside waiting for Phil while Joe went to buy a drink for you. It starts to get really boring so you start playing a game on your phone.

"(Y/n), we need to talk," you raised your head seeing Phil closing the door.

"Ok..." You shoved your phone into your pocket and Phil started to walk you to the visiting lounge in silence. You didn't say anything since Phil looks really down.

You both sat down. Phil sighed before looking up at you, "(y/n) I'll tell my story and you'll tell me yours ok?"

Oh god no, you thought, but nodded to the question. On one hand, you don't want to let him know your relationship with Dan. It's been so long and you really don't like bringing it up again. But on the other hand, you wanted to know what Phil has to say about all this.

"So.. Me and Dan are best friends and we have been flat mates for a while now." Phil started to speak, "The night before Dan was found um... by the road, we had an argument." You nodded to that information.

"We were having the biggest argument we had ever have and Dan just stormed out of the house angrily." Phil paused for a moment.

"I am fine with it because everytime we have an argument, Dan would need to have some private time to calm down and usually he will go to have a walk or maybe a drink."

You see Phil's ears started glowing red and his voice is starting to sound shaky.

"I was still angry with him so I do not care if he didn't want to come back for the night or so." Phil continued, "I thought Dan was just... stubborn and annoyed. I really should have stopped him from going out or maybe call him to reassure he is safe... If it is not me, he wouldn't be..."

Tears started to stream down his cheeks. You started to panic because you were never good at comforting people. You moved forward to pat his shoulder gently trying to make him feel better.

"It's ok, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself," You hand him a tissue paper and he wipe his tears away.

After a silent moment, Phil looks up at you and said, "now it's your turn to spill."

You were too concentrated on his story you almost forgot you have made a deal to with him tell yours too. "Well..."

"Who are you to Dan? Dan never told me about you. And why are you his emergency contact?"

"I'm... I was his girlfriend during high school." You looked up to make eye contact with Phil, "I believed I am his emergency contact because we were forced to submit a medical information sheet in case of emergencies during high school.

I remembered Dan filled in my name for emergency contact person. So Dan might have forgotten to change it back after we broke up." You have been thinking about a reasonable answer to 'why am I his emergency contact?' for a while and finally concluded to this.

You and Phil chatted for a bit longer and you found out a lot of things that you've missed after the break up.

"(Y/n), can you do me a favour?" Phil asked suddenly.

"Sure, what is it?"

"You know me and Dan are popular YouTubers right? Could you keep this whole thing down please? Because I don't want too many people knowing it." Phil said in concerned.

"Yeah sure no problem," you smiled.

"Here you are," both you and Phil looked up to see Joe walked in, holding two bottles of water, "I've been looking everywhere for you two, what did I missed?"

"A lot," you looked at Phil, he smiled in response.

"Okay. I would love to hear them but the visiting hours are over so we have to go now, guys." Joe gestured to the clock in the lounge.

It's already 8 o' clock in the evening, the sun has set. You didn't realise how fast time has pasted. After saying your goodbyes to the boys, you went back to your apartment. You are so tired that you didn't even bothered to eat anything and went straight to bed.
