"Hey sweetie, while you're staying in London, can you clean our attic when you're free? Thanks. Love, Mom."

Early in the morning, a message from mom asking you to clean up the attic. Wow, thanks mom..., you thought, rolling your eyes.

Sigh. Never mind, you thought, you are free today anyway.

You went to Dan's room. Knock knock. You opened the door and see Dan sitting on the floor playing some video games that you're not interested in. "Hey wha-up?" Dan causally greeted you with his eyes still stuck to the screen.

"I'm going to the attic," You said.

"Okay," still looking at the screen.

You closed the door and proceed on your journey to the attic.

"Ugh, it's so stuffy in here." You waved your hand in front of you. You reached over to the light switch and... click. The lights' on.

"Wow," you exclaimed, "what a mess in here."

You started to clean up boxes of junk and threw everything that is useless into a huge garbage bag.

In here, there are bags and boxes of your memories. Your childhood barbie dolls, toys of different kinds, clothes that don't suit you anymore, your preschool projects, your brother's football, your dad's old golf kit, your mom's favourite book set etc...

Until, something caught your eye...

A cute little teddy bear sitting in the corner.

You went over to pick it up. It's been up here for a long time. You gently patted it, a thick layer of dust drifted down the toy. The bear is smiling. It is the sweetest smile, on the bear's... and on your 16-year-old-face.

-flashback-

The school bell rang. It only means one thing - school's over!!

You grabbed your bag and books  and skipped over to Dan. Dan was packing his bag with his head down.

"Hey Dan," you smiled, "where we goin' later?"

Dan hesitated for a while and looked up at you. "Sorry, but I'm busy today," he replied and walked away without saying goodbye to you.

You frowned. What had happened to Dan? He hasn't been hanging out with you for the last three days. You two used to go to a coffee shop for afternoon tea after school.

"Hey, y/n! You ok?" Joe walked over.

"Yeah I'm fine," you answered lazily, starting to walk towards the exit.

"Boyfriend's being a dick huh?" He asked, jogging a bit to catch up to you. You sighed, "What he up to? Too busy to even hang out with his girlfriend?"
