Chapter 6

Lauren's POV:

I was talking to Rydel about dance. She was so excited when I told her that I dance competitively. Since then, she has asked me about one million questions.

"So, what do you do exactly?" She asked me again.

I laughed. "I dance competitively. I do solos, duets, and group routines." I replied, smiling. I ran my fingers through my hair in an attempt to get it out of my face. I grabbed my sunglasses out of my purse and placed them on the top of my head.

"Sweet! You should show us some time!" She replied enthusiastically. I laughed and nodded. Her eyes looked away from me and towards the house as the back door opened. She looked back at me and smiled. I heard the door close and I turned around to see who it was.

Ross. Shirtless.

He had a six-pack and looked incredibly hot. I closed my mouth before he could notice. He caught me looking and smirked. I quickly looked away and put my sunglasses over my eyes. Rydel giggled at what just happened before returning to her magazine. I ignored her and put my headphones in. I pulled out my iPod and put it on shuffle before lying down on my stomach to tan.

20 minutes later, my music stopped. I grabbed my iPod. It was dead. Great. I took my headphones out and then laid back down on my back.

"Hey Lauren?" Rydel asked, sounding far away.

"Yeah Rydel?" I responded, not opening my eyes.

"Can you come help me with something real quick." She asked, her voice slightly louder. I nodded my head before getting up and walking over to the back doors where she was standing.

"So what do you need my help with?" I asked, putting my sunglasses on the top of my head. Suddenly, my sunglasses were gone, and seconds later, two tan, muscular arms wrapped around my waist. They lifted me in the air and started heading towards the pool.

"PUT ME DOWN!" I yelled, kicking my legs around. He chuckled in my ear before throwing me into the cold, chlorinated water. When I resurfaced, I turned around to see who had done it so I could give them a piece of my mind.

Ross.

He was standing at the edge of the pool laughing with my sunglasses over his eyes. I smirked before swimming over, grabbing his hand, and yanking him into the pool with me. I started laughing.

"You're lucky I had already gotten my hair wet!" He said when he had surfaced, my sunglasses now wet.

"Whatever." I said, rolling my eyes and giggling. I removed my sunglasses from his face, running my fingers through my hair before placing them back where they were. He looked me straight in the eyes, smiling, and butterflies started fluttering in my stomach. I could feel my cheeks turning bright red. I waded over to the edge of the pool and lifted myself out before he could notice. Rydel came running over to me as soon as I had gotten out of the water.

"We should have a sleepover tonight!" She basically screamed, clapping her hands and jumping up and down. I liked that idea so I nodded and told her I needed to run back to my hotel to grab a couple of things. "Okay, I'm coming with you!" She said, running into the house to change, dragging me behind her.
