Mr. Someone

I trusted you, but you proved that you didn't deserve me;
Despite my imperfections, your rag doll I didn't need to be.

I am who I am, and I'm not gonna change for you;
Or rather anyone who'd tell me to be the way they want me to.

I am the one to decide which way I want my life to go;
You don't get to disrupt everything with a single blow.

Even without you, I'll function perfectly well;
No matter what you do, I'm no more in the lifeless shell.

You said you didn't know that I was waiting for you;
But darling, I'm sure as hell, all of it you always knew.

You knew how much you meant to me;
You knew you were my reason to glee.

You knew you shouldn't have told the lie;
You knew you shouldn't have let me hope high.

But what you chose, was to keep me in the dark;
Without letting my love even cross your heart's arc.

You said that your feelings were out of childishness;
But tell me how you grew up just in months or even less.

One single truth of how you felt could've saved me so many tears;
It wouldn't have been half as bad, with situations crystal clear.

But Mr Someone, I still won't forget you for the sake of remembering my fault;
So that before trusting blindly again, I can put myself to halt.
