I got this year as a great boon;
Realised how big, I am, of a loon.
But it all ends on a good note;
On the cloud of happiness I now float.
I came across the greatest fellows;
With hearts as soft as marshmallows.
Who inspired me like none before;
This new-found family I so adore.
Poetry came waltzing into my life;
Shielding me from each hurtful knife.
Ne'er knew it could give such solace;
Modifying my life with such grace.
Essential decisions too were made;
Which were quite difficult to evade.
Ready for the consequences I'd reach;
I took in all that the year did preach.
Some chapters were closed forever;
Which surely ended for the better.
My self-confidence did revive;
Letting it all go, I do feel more alive.
My relation with people improved;
Whom earlier I had not approved.
I realised they won't be there for long;
And so I should, for once, get along.
This year I disclosed my awful secrets;
And got over the menacing regrets.
Much lighter my chest now does feel;
With nothing more now left to reveal.
And yes, into a new abode I moved;
For me, to be real warmth it proved.
Like a new addition to my family;
I look at it like it is a lovable entity.
Many firsts happened, lasts did too;
But to the year, I happily bid adieu.
This year in review makes me smile;
Giving a new zeal to cherish every coming while!
