((Hello world! Yes, I am continuing the story (finally) so please enjoy this update!))

The next week, there was still no activity from Hawkmoth. No one akumatized. Nothing.

There was also no sign of Adrien.... Until Nino texted me and informed me that he was going out, and he wanted me to come along. It was decided we were going to meet at the Champs-Elysees, for some shopping and leisure. Since it was the weekend. I didn't really have work to worry about.

"Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng!" I called out to the floor below, "I'm going out with a few friends today, is that okay with you guys?!"

Mrs. Dupain-Cheng's voiced called out with a reply and a friendly "yes (y/n)!" Of course, they asked me if I wanted some sweets for my friends and I to bring with me, and as much as I wanted to I had to resist, since they'd already done so much for me. (Seriously, Marinettes parents are unrealistically friendly wow!)

Since it would be a lot faster, to get there as Ladybug, I decided to it was time to transform. After all, it had been a while.

"Tikki! Spots o-"

"C'mon (y/n), you can just walk you know." As long as it had been, Tikki was still reluctant to transform for trivial matters"

"Tikki pleeeeeease. How long has it been? Forever? Paris needs to know that Ladybug is still here to protect them!"

"Are you sure that's what this is about?" She raised a brow.

"Nope. Not at all. But still, I'm going to see Adrien today, and if I had known that I wouldn't be able to transform, I wouldn't have waited this long! As this rate, I'll be late!"

And with that, (and Tikki's pity of course) I said the words and went on my way to meet Nino, Alya, and Adrien. (Kind of like a double date... except Tikki wouldn't have been too hot on that particular idea. I had to play it smooth. Dangerous territory considering Marinette and I were having the same crush on the same boy.)

When I got there, Nino had his arm around Adrien, and honestly, Adrien looked kind of glum. Alya didn't look that happy either... considering Nino's arm was around Adrien and not her. Ah, I guess the bromance was just too much to handle.

"Heyyyy.... guys." I waved after I detransformed around the corner.

Alya waved back. Yet another surprise.

"Hey girl, what's up?"

"Nothing much, I've done a lot of sight seeing though, Paris is honestly so pretty." Almost as pretty as Adrien. Whoops. I almost said that out loud.

"Sounds cool (y/n)," Nino interjected, and pulled me aside, "hey listen Adrien is feeling pretty bummed this is operation Cinnamon roll. We get Adrien to totally laugh his guts off by the end of tonight. He says he's heartbroken or something. Anyways, got it dude?"

"Got it." And of course, a wink of recognition was flashed on my part.

"Seriously guys, you don't have to go all the way out for me, I could go do some extra fencing or something if I'm taking your time..." Adrien was still frowning. I wondered what could have happened to make him this sad. I really hoped his dad hadn't done something awful at home. No way the acclaimed fashion designer Gabriel Agreste could do something horrible like that... or could he?

"No way Adrien! Today's about you, and if you're feeling down, it's our job as your friends to make you feel happier!" I could't just stand by and watch him be upset. It was time to take initiative!

"Friends?"

Another mistake. Maybe I was too ambitious to call ourselves friends...

Adrien's handsome smile was back on his face and he laughed a bit.

"Alright guys, sorry for being a downer. So Nino, what do we have planned today?"

Nino pulled out empty pockets. "Mind if we just walk around for today?"

"Nino, you're not supposed to let him know you're broke!" Alya teasingly told him.

And then. A wild beast appeared out of the blue.

"ADRIKINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!"

It was Chloe.

"ADRIEN I HEARD FROM ROSE WHO HEARD FROM JULEKA WHO HEARD FROM NATHANAËL WHO HEARD FROM NINO THAT YOU WERE UPSET!"

All of us made eye contact.

"Do we try to make a break for it?" Alya asked. The question seemed completely rhetorical to me. But of course, it wasn't.

"Sometime's a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do."

A hand went behind his head. "Oh... hey Chloe?"

"Adrikins! How could you not let me know you were upset! Is it because I didn't show to your last photoshoot? C'mon, let's go ditch these losers."

"Chloe. They're not losers, they're my friends. And honestly this has been the highlight of my week. If you're going to be mean like that, then you're the real loser Chloe."
