Figuring it Out

*RETURN TO YOUR POV*

    "Adrien," I say coming back fully dressed. I'm wearing his clothes, they remind me of him, it feels sweet. "What are we going to do now? We have a lot of ideas on the table; finding Master Fu, running away together, me living here?"

    He's texting on his phone. "Oh, I'm just telling Nino that we're officially a thing now. He says congratulations- he's the best, so supportive." 

    We make eye contact, I purse my lips.

    He purrs. "Alright, alright. Let's find Master Fu first. If we do, then we can ask him what to do." Then Adrien holds my hand, "So I know you were worried about my dad coming in earlier, but we can save that all for later."

    So I exit the room with Adrien, smiling, hand in hand, and Nathalie smiles. Except, much to our chagrin, Mr. Agreste steps out. Nathalie immediately looks down. She's just been recently akumatized!

     "Adrien. Who is this lovely young lady you've brought to our home?"

    "She's-"

    I step up defiantly, looking Mr. Agreste in the eye. And I reach my hand out to shake his, he has a tight grip, almost too tight. Almost, maliciously tight. Like a villain.

    "My name is (Y/n). I'm Adrien's girlfriend"

    He squints his eyes narrowly. Adrien stumbles back nervously. After all we've been through together that word sets him off in a blush. 

    "Pleased to make your acquaintance, I don't think I've seen you at his school. But, I have high hopes for you. You seem like a smart girl. You aren't afraid of me."

    "Dad!"

    "Calm down, Adrien. I hope you weren't scared to bring a girl- no a woman- home either. Remember to treat ladies with respect."

    "Dad!" Adrien whines, chuckling. Maybe Mr. Agreste isn't so bad after all.

    Mr. Agreste turns and sighs. Then he smiles, maybe he realizes it's about time that his son has human connections with others. "I believe that you'll be a good influence on my son. There's something about you that almost seems... miraculous. The way you came into my son's life so quickly, how you're able to cheer him up. Thank you. Sometime's it's not so easy being a father." And he smiles at me. He smiles at his son. Seeing Adrien happy makes him happy.

    Tears well up in Adrien's eyes, his father having shown him so much emotion. He runs up and embraces his dad; something, I can tell, that he does not get to do so often.

    "But- are you two planning to go anywhere?"

    "Yes father, we're planning on going out for a couple hours."

    "A couple hours? That seems like a long time to be together."

     "Also dad... now that we're being completely honest... (Y/n) doesn't have a place to stay."

    I'm shocked that Adrien would tell him that! "Well... having just met you... you understand the implications," Mr. Agreste says. "It's very unlikely that I would be legally able to have you under my roof, especially staying with Adrien. I do not think it would be appropriate."

    Nathalie steps in, "sir, she can stay with me." I saved her and now she is saving me, funny world.

    I see Adrien's mouth gape wide open. Something in his eyes says something like 'nooooo, I wanted the opportunity to cuddle up with her every night.'

    "Well, I suppose that's all right... For the time being. I will see you two by eight o'clock for dinner?"

    "Absolutely," we both say at once.
