DeclanTurns out Waverley's "girls day out" turned out to be the whole crew, save Kyle who agreed to stay back and watch over the pack. In his place, Amy tagged along. I knew right away this was a bad combination. Waverley, Liam, and Amy together in the same room never was a good sign.
"Come on slow poke, let's go!" Amy sang, skipping around me and to Charlie, swinging her arm over my mate. Mumbling, I walk behind the group, my eyes on the look out for trouble. I never liked being outside the pack, away from the people I promised to protect, but the only reason I was here was because Charlie was here. I don't know what I would do if she got hurt, especially off the borders of my land. I couldn't take this risk, even though I know my friends are capable of protecting Charlie, it still didn't settle my wolf. And me personally just wanted to be closer to Charlie. It was getting harder and harder to stay away. I have to explain more about us being mates or else I may lose control before she ever has the chance to know everything.
"So, Charlie." Waverley turned to my mate, smiling in that sickly sweet way. My poor mate had no idea what that smile really meant.
And quite frankly, neither do I.
"Where do you like to shop?" The questions threw Charlie off, and for a second she seemed scared. I was confused until she shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know...not a lot of places though." Charlie wrapped her arms around her body, hands rubbing her own arms like she was trying to comfort her. I watched from the corner of my eye as Mason looked like he was about to step forward but stopped when he saw me looking.
She's insecure. She does that when she's not comfortable or trying to hide herself.
With a tight nod I cut Mason from my mind allowing me to focus on the beauty in front of me. She still had her arms around her body but she talking normally to Liam. It seemed like she got along well with Liam and Kyle, which eased my wolf. I'll always trust those two with everything. In a way, they are my third commands, mostly in charge of patrolling and training. Together they became the best go to warriors during a battle, they knew everything when it came to techniques, strategies, and agility. If there was anyone in this pack I would let Charlie be around alone with, it'd be those two.
And not just because they're gay. That's just a plus.
...
"Come on Charlie let's check this out! I love their clothes!" Amy and Waverley immediately headed straight into Pacsun, Jace rolling his eyes at his mate as she abandoned him.
"Uhm, I don't think so." Charlie backed away from the entrance as Liam followed right in with the girls. Once again she held her arms to her body. Frowning at what she was trying to do I step closer to her knowing she'd sense me and calm down.
Considering how emotionally fragile she is right now I didn't want to push it as far as I have already. The kiss was always so much for her and there is still things about mates that I need to explains before we get any further.
"You don't have to if you don't want to Charlie. The three of us can always go somewhere else. Like Forever 21, you like that store." Mason points behind him where the retail store was. Instantly Charlie seemed less tense and back away from Pacsun.
"Yes, please, let's go." Charlie looks up at me for a split second almost like she was making sure I was going to follow her.
I'll always be beside her.
"I don't care." Shoving my hands into my pockets I follow my mate and pack member into the colorful store. Without say Mason disappeared between the clothes racks.
"I think he just suggested Forever 21 because he wanted to come in here too." Charlie giggles. Her tiny laugh making my heart squeeze. It's so pleasing to hear that.
"I think I can agree with you on that." I smile down at Charlie but her attention was on the clothes in front of her, to distracted to see me admiring her. Goddess she was breath taking. Her hair was wavy as ever, the dress she wore that fateful day clung to her body in a way that made my wolf howl. I'm surprised her dress made it even though it was clawed, but it appeared her dress was stronger.
Her bandages could be seen clearly, but Charlie didn't care. She didn't seem to mind the fact you could see her scars, but yet she always tried to shield her body away. It confused me and irritated my wolf because he wanted to see more.
"What about this?" Snapping out of my thoughts I see Charlie holding up a cute little romper.
"What about it?" Charlie rolls her eyes, a tiny smile on her face.
"Is it cute? Like could I pull it off?"
"That's a stupid question, of course you can." With another eye roll Charlie pushes the romper towards me. Confused I take the article of clothing not sure what she wants me to do.
"Here, hold it really quick while I find shoes to go with it." Following her around like a lost puppy, I watch her indulge her self in the plethora of shoes that were strewn all over the place, literally.
"Think I could wear heels?" Charlie stands from the floor holding a pair of 3 inch yellow heels. For a second, I actually try and give her an honest honest, but if I'm being honest I'm not sure what she meant by the question.
"Uh, yeah?"
"Is that a question or statement?" With her hands on her hips she stares me down catching me.
"Both." Her laughter shakes my bones causing me to stand taller just not to fall to my knees before her.
"Okay, let me put the outfit on and then you just tell me if I look good or not."
"But you're always beautiful." The cute little brunette stops mid walk turning back to me with an unreadable expression on her face.
"You..." There's a tiny pause before she just shakes her head and turns back. "I can't take you shopping, can I?" With that she walks into the dressing rooms leaving me to stand outside confused.
What did I say?
