"Alpha," Three taps at my office door brought me out of my paper work. Sighing heavily I sit up in my leather chair, leaning back.

"Yes." The red wooden door opens revealing my right hand man and childhood buddy, Beta Jace.

"There's been a sighting of a human." My eyebrows arch ever so slightly, my emotionless face hardly reacting to the news. It was just a human. They shouldn't be a threat. But then again, I'm the Merciless Alpha Antonio. I don't take chances.

"How many?" My voice hardening. Jace squares his shoulders, his eyes holding mine.

"Just one, Alpha." I hum ever so slightly.

"Let's go." I grunt, standing from my desk. I look down at my unfinished contract. This needs to be finished by tonight but I have to sniff out this human.

Markus. I mind-link my third in command.

Alpha? He replies.

Come to my office and finish off this contract for me, please. It's needs to be finished by tonight and I have to go out and snoop out this new human.

Shortly after informing Markus, he briskly walks into my office, his heavily pregnant mate, Macy, following close behind. I knew there was no way he'd leave her sight. A tiny pang pinches my heart but I shake it off with a growl and storm out of my office.

"Let's go." Jace quickly following behind me as I jog out the back of the pack house and shift mid walk and dash into the forest. My Beta right there behind me.

Lead the way, Beta.

For hours I've been driving in the middle of no where with only the sound of my radio and the rumble of my Dodge diesel. It's been exactly 35 hours and 24 minutes since I left my small town of Katy, Texas for an even smaller, more reserved town of Huntsville, Washington. I don't quite remember exactly how I found this small little town, but I was thankful I did. Despite my brothers' pleads to stay in Texas, I refused. My heart was always drawn to Washington with its lushes green forests and shiny grey waters. It was where my father was born, and it was where I'm going to live the rest of my life.

The smooth concrete paved road suddenly took a bumpy turn as I turned a left onto a narrow dirt path. Flicking my headlights on higher, I squint my eyes to see past all the dark shadows fearing I'll hit a wild animal. The thought of hurting an innocent animal sent my heart clenching and my body shivering at the thought. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I ever killed an animal.

I continued to drive for a few more minutes until my car lights hit a familiar looking cottage house. This was it. This was the house my father was born in. The house left in my name, just for me and me alone. Smiling wildly, I quickly park the car but keep the lights on so I can see the door to unlock it. Tightening my grip on the chain around my neck I jump out of my truck and practically skip to the front door, fumbling a bit on the rocks. I was too excited to care about my clumsiness.

After fumbling with the chain caught in my short wavy hair, I finally manage to get the single key in my hands and into the key hole. Twisting it a few times I finally unlock the old locks hearing the satisfying click. Squealing I push open the large door, the loud cries of the door echoing in the forest.

"Home sweet home!"

Hello! And welcome to my new story! I would like to say that all towns and names of places in this story are totally fictional! (Except Katy, Texas I actually live there) Also, feel free to comment on any of my mistakes that I may have made, just don't be rude about it. I'm learning to write and catch all my mistakes, I'm human so don't be an ass. Excuse my French.
