Charlie's POV

I stood sickly still under the stream of my shower, arms crossed gently over my chest trying to block my stitches from the water. The once cold shower was now a luke warm making the shower uncomfortable, but for the life of me I couldn't move. The events of just a few hours ago replayed in my mind over and over like a broken record.

My mind a frantic mess trying to decide how to take Declan's unexpected kiss. I was both angry, yet happy. Angry because I barely knew the guy and he stole my first kiss, and happy because he stole my first kiss. Something about that kiss was different. It didn't feel like a normal kiss, given this was my first kiss, but that kiss was different. A simple little kiss shouldn't leave me feeling so many different types of emotions. A simple kiss shouldn't leave me paralyzed by just how good that kiss was. That kiss made me feel different and made me want Declan.

Shivering at my thoughts I decide to exit the shower and call it a day. My mind was all sorts of messed up, and with everything going on it wasn't helping me one bit. I just wanted a calming day for once. Was that too hard to ask for?

***

I woke up the next morning to Waverley pounding on my door. Apparently I was to have breakfast with her and Jace at her place. At first I thought it would be weird, considering I would be third wheeling. But when we rolled up to her enormous house and entered the kitchen I realized we were not the only ones here.

"Charlie!" Liam exclaimed, waving from his spot at the dinning table. "Good to see you well." I waved, a little less enthusiastic than him. In my defense, I didn't expect everyone to be here.

Okay that's a lie. I didn't expect Declan to be here.

"Babe, let her be." Kyle scolded his boyfriend, nudging him before diving into his breakfast burrito. My stomach unintentionally growled at the delicious food.

"Sit and eat, girl!" Waverley pushed me further into the dinning room. At the head of the table was Declan. To his right Jace sat with Waverley right beside him. There was an empty seat next to her that I was about to head for when Mason came out of no where.

"Morning, Char." With a pat on my head, Mason took the spot next to Waverley, leaving me to sit next to Declan, his left side. Gulping, I tentatively sit down, trying to avoid eye contact. Beside me Kyle smiled sweetly somewhat easing my awkwardness.

Reaching for the plates of food, I collect enough food on my plate to ease my hunger.

But not my hunger for Declan.

Ugh! No stop it!

Shaking my head, I dig into my food just mindlessly listening to the conversation going on around the table.

"So, Charlie." Jace brings the attention around the table back to me. Looking up my eyes somehow find Declan's causing my ears to burn. Turning away from him I look over at Jace.

"Yes?" For some reason I'm worried about where this is going.

"How do you know Mason?" Oh that's not too bad.
