Charlie

As my mind began to slip away from my dreams I started to notice the smell of bacon...and sausages? The smell of breakfast made me bolt upright on the couch, my head swiveling towards the kitchen. Who the hell was cooking? As slow and as quiet as possible I lift my body off the couch moving the blanket over my body. On the tips of my toes I silently stalk to the kitchen, my heart pounding in my ears.

It couldn't be an intruder, unless they were nice enough to fed me my last meal before killing me. But, who would sneak into my house and make me breakfast? And not even think to wake me up like a normal person?

As I got closer to the kitchen entrance I start to blink away my blurry morning eyes while stepping into the sunlit kitchen. As I open my eyes I see a larger figure move past the fridge.

"Ah, good morning!" I nearly jump out of my skin at the sound of a male voice. Walking further into the kitchen I start to see that familiar beach blonde hair and wide broad shoulder. Declan turns around, an unexpectedly large smile on his face. Those green eyes glistening in the morning sun from the window. Never have I seen such a gorgeous smile on a guy ever before. My heart literally skipped a beat. I think it even stopped for a solid five seconds before hammering like a woodpecker.

"D-Declan," I breathed out his name wanting to kick myself for sounding so awe struck by him. I felt like a 12 year old meeting their teen idol. "Wh-What are you d-doing here?" I look around the kitchen, he was obviously prepping breakfast, a pretty large one at that. There was pancakes sitting on the counter, fresh bacon laid out on a plate, and sausage sizzling on the pan. Looking at the small kitchen table I saw two glasses of milk poured and ready along with fresh chopped fruit all mixed in a bowl in the center.  "Where did you get all this food?" This time I was more firm.

The last time I checked all I had was ramen.

"We have a bed to get today," Declan smirked at me before returning to the sausages. "and I got this food at the store today. I noticed your fridge was pretty empty so I stocked up for you." A fluttering sensation exploded within me at Declan's words. He is making me breakfast and got me groceries? His actions took me by surprised and left me feeling even more conflicted with my emotions. On one hand I was skeptical of this guy, for obvious reasons, but another part of me wanted to skip across this kitchen and kiss the hell out of him.

Instead I stood in the kitchen door way, staring at him like a freak while my body turned 50 shades of red. "T-T-That wasn't n-n-n-"

"Relax," Declan sets the tongs down walking up to me. Each step closer sends a bolts of energy down my spine. I kept my mouth shut, watching him strut up to me. His large hands found my arms, then my shoulders, until finally they rested on my cheeks holding me captive. When his hands caught my face I sucked in a breath of air catching his earthy cologne. My stomach growled, "someone sounds hungry." Declan let out a small chuckle, his breath fanning my face making my knees go weak.

Is he going to kiss me?

Just as my feet began to lift me up Declan pulled back from my face, "Come on, lets eat." Instead, Declan drops his hands and turns to go back to his sausages. Suddenly, I feel very disappointed. I shouldn't have even expected it. We are not even together.

You are my mate...I just want to show you love...

Taking a deep breath I make my way to the kitchen table finding a seat. Declan comes over with the sausages placing them on the table. After he sets all the food down Declan finally takes a seat beside me. A satisfied grin on his face.

"Well, dig in!"

Breakfast goes by smoothly. We didn't speak much, the both of us with food too stuffed in our mouths to speak. I felt like I hadn't eaten in forever. By the end of the meal my body already was appreciating the proteins and nutrients. But my mind couldn't stop wondering to Declan's proclamation and how bad it ached my heart when Declan didn't meet my kiss earlier. I mean it wasn't like I was puckering up, but I thought I felt a pull...
