School goes quickly and it’s over before I know it. Sophie and I talked about what happened yesterday and she doesn’t understand why he came over ever. Boys are so unpredictable! I avoided eye contact with Harry all day today and lucky for me he didn’t decide to push me against the lockers again. I grabbed my school bag out of the bottom of the locker and locked it shut. Sophie gets the train on Thursdays so we headed down to the station straight away. Until we were stopped.
“Not again” I whisper to Sophie as we try to walk around the tall figure.
“What was that sis?” Harry questions. We kept walking trying to avoid contact with Harry. I felt an arm wrap around my waist and pull me close. I was inches away from his face. My breathing got heavier as his green eyes stared into mine.
“I-I” I stuttered
“That’s what I thought.” He smirked as he held me tighter. I quickly jumped out of his grasp and ran back over to Sophie. What the hell was that!
“See you tomorrow sis” Harry Shouted as we walked away.
Sis? Really! We are not even related!
“What. The. Hell.” Sophie finally asks.
“I have no idea how to react.” I admit.
“Neither would I.”
“Let’s not talk about it, I don’t think I can handle another conversation about him.” I sigh as we come up to the station. We touch on our Mykis as we quickly board the leaving train. We wouldn’t have had to rush to make this train if stupid Harry didn’t stop us. We take a seat on the dirty train chairs and Sophie changes the subject. Thank god, I don’t think I could’ve handled a conversation about what just happened.
My stop comes before I know it and I say goodbye to Sophie while getting off the train. My house is about a 10 minute walk so I put my headphones in and listen to some Beyonce. She is my absolute favourite singer! I kick the rock in front of me and keep kicking it till it hits the grass. I always seem to do that while walking home. It’s a habit I guess. I walk up the front yard and knock on the door waiting for mum to answer.
“Hi darling, how was your day?” she questions as she opens the door to let me in.
“Good thanks mum and yours?” I ask as I look into the lounge room for Zeus.
“Great! Do you….”
“Zeus!” I yell interrupting mum looking around nervously. He’s usually always here to greet me!
“Zeus baby!” I say as he comes running towards me! “You worried me!” I sigh in relief.
“Sorry mum, what were you going to say?”
“Do you want to go out for dinner?” she asks.
“Sure, let me just get changed” I say standing up from patting Zeus. I brush the dog hairs of my jumper and make my way up the stairs. I will never get over how hard these stairs are to get up. Maybe I should get one of those little chair lifts old people have! That would work so much better! Zeus runs up behind me and follows me into my room. He sometimes sleeps on my bed with me. Seeing as though I have a double bed I didn’t really mind. But he is a German Sheppard and he does take up a lot of room so sometimes I don’t let him.
“What to wear Zeus” I ask him as I scanned through my clothes. “Perfect” I whisper. I grab out my floral dress that hangs just below my knees and a white cardigan. I touch up my makeup and pull my hair into a pony tail on top of my head.
Mum decided to take me to some fancy restaurant down town. It was really sweet of her to take me out but we were running low on money and I was starting to wonder how she’s paying for all this. I let it slide as I enjoyed my risotto and garlic bread.
“That was delicious” I state as we walk out to the car.
“Glad you enjoyed it” mum replied.
We both got in the car and zoomed off. My mind started to wonder about Harry and why all of a sudden he keeps talking to me. I guess he’s just trying to tease me about our parents dating. It’s working, because it’s really getting on my nerves. I have to admit though he is pretty good looking. He’s definitely not my type with all those piercings and tattoos. But he is definitely hot. Stop it Mia! I think to myself. He’s a jerk and your mums dating his dad so you definitely can’t go there. Even though I wouldn’t go there.
Mum pulls up in the driveway and we both get out of the car. A note was stuck to the front of the door. It read:
“Just popped around to say hello, seems you weren’t home so give me a call when you can honey. Love William.”
Honey? Love? What are they married now. Chill out Mia. I wonder whereharry got his attitude from because it seems as though his dad is the sweetst man ever.
“Isn’t that sweet” mum points out as she takes the note of the door and unlocks it.
“I’m going to bed” I tell mum as I kiss her goodnight. “Come on Zeus!” I call out as I climb those deadly stairs again. He follows me up to my room and lays on my bed. I quickly wipe my makeup off and chuck my pyjamas on.
“Night Zeus” I say as I switch the lights off. I like it when Zeus sleeps with me because I feel protected. Safe, like no one could hurt me and I’m sure no one would while I have a German Sheppard with me.
