“Mum I’m going out.” I yell down the hallway before leaving the house. I wanted to go hand in my resume to that doggy hotel early this morning.

It’s not that long of a drive so I decided I will walk. I don’t want to hassle Harry or mum about driving me. I put on my sunglasses and put my ear phones in to listen to some music.

I didn’t end up calling Harry last night about what happened with Zach. I don’t need to worry him with even more problems. Sometimes I wonder if he’s just better off without me there, worrying him every second. I just get into self-doubt a lot about our relationship. There’s so many pretty girls out there, yet he’s dating me. I don’t know why, but lately it has been on my mind a lot. What happens if one day he just sees a prettier girl than me and leaves me instantly? I need to stop thinking about it. Nothing has provoked these thoughts but somehow they just keep swarming back. It must be because of all the emotions and feelings suddenly bought back from Zach. Everything’s just getting a bit confusing.

I’m trying my hardest to push these negative thoughts to the back of my mind. Harry and I are doing really well in our relationship lately and I don’t need thoughts distancing me from him.

I walk up the long entrance that leads me to the front of the doggy hotel. I stop at the door, quickly getting my resume out of my bag. I fix my hair slightly before entering the door. I made sure I dressed appropriately and nice to give a good first experience.

The bell rang as I stepped inside and walked over to the reception desk.

“Hi miss, how can I help you?” The familiar voice from last time asked as he stepped into the room.

“Hi. I saw your sign the other day about a job opening and wanted to hand in my resume.” I smile as he walks over to me.

His brown hair is in a perfect quiff and he’s wearing a blue shirt with the logo on it and blue jeans with converse. He’s name badge reads Jessie. He looks about 20-23 years old.

“Of course.” He smiles taking the resume off of me.

I stand their awkwardly as he scans over my resume.

“Volunteers at animal shelter, completed veterinary work safety certificate.” He reads aloud while scanning my resume.

“This is a very good resume Miss….Wellington.” He says when he finds my name.

“Thankyou.” I smile.

“I didn’t introduce myself, I’m Jessie. I’m one of the managers here.” He smiles sticking his hand out to shake.

“Oh, Hi. I’m Mia.” I smile shaking his hand.

“Yes I remember you from the other day. You had the German Shepard right?” He asks smiling.

“Yes I did.”

“Well, your resume looks excellent. I can take you in for an interview straight away if you would like.” He grins folding my resume back over.

“That would be great!” I smile.

He smiles in return before opening a little door that leads you behind the reception desk. He leads me into a small office which is filled with photos of employees and dogs. He sits on one side of the desk and I take a seat on the other.

He places my resume down before picking up a clipboard and a pen. I watch him intently while he does so. He almost seems too young to be a manager. He’s very nice though and if I may say so pretty attractive.

I place my bag on the ground and cross my legs over before resting my hands on top of them, sitting up straight.

“Okay let’s get started.” He says looking up from his clipboard.
