“Mia it’s time to get up!” Mum yells through the crack of my door. I roll over to check the time on my phone. 5:03am. Hopefully it will be all worth it when we get to the Whitsundays. I slowly get myself out of bed and chuck on some shorts and a baggy t-shirt. It’s pretty cold outside but once we get on the plane and land, it will be pretty hot. I put my hair up into a messy bun, letting strands fall over the side of my face. I put on a bit of BB cream and mascara so I don’t look like death. I grab all the stuff that still needed packing because I used it this morning and shoved it all in my carry-on bag.
I dragged my suit case and carry-on bag down the stair case and dump it at the door, ready to leave. I meet mum in the kitchen and cook up a few pieces of toast. I juggle the hot toast before putting it on a plate. I quickly butter it and put a small amount of vegemite on. I pour myself a glass of orange juice and take the seat next to mum on the dining table. So much to do this morning.
“Excited?” Mum asks.
“Very.” I smile. I was pretty nervous though, I’m still a bit anxious about the whole plane trip. It’s been like 14 years since I have been on a plane, I’m sure I will be fine though I have Harry.
“Ready to go? I think I heard William pull up into the driveway.” Mum interrupts my thoughts.
“Of course.” I say finishing off the last of my toast. I quickly wash the plate and put it away before catching up to mum at the front door.
We collect our suitcases as William gets out of his car to help us. We throw our suitcases into the boot and our carry-on bags. I slide into the backseat where Harry is quietly sitting. He’s leaning against the window with his eyes closed. He had a black t-shirt on and black jeans, with a dark blue beanie. He looked adorable and I just wanted to give him a big cuddle. But I didn't want to disturb him. I close the back seat door quietly trying not to wake him, but as soon as I do so his eyes snap open.
“Hey baby.” Harry smiles leaning in to me.
“Hi Harry.” I grin back. He quickly pecks me on the cheek before taking his original position.
“Tired?” I smirk.
“Maybe a little.” Harry chuckles, it seems as though he’s in a pretty good mood considering he’s not a morning person. He grabs my arm and pulls me closer to him so my heads resting on his chest. It was cute and comfortable. But I felt a bit awkward considering our parents were in the front seat.
It was about an hour drive before we made it to the airport. Most of the drive was silent, except for when William or Mum said something. But Harry and I stayed quiet most of the time. We are both really tired.
We checked our bags in and made our way to the gate where our plane boarded. We had at least 15 minutes until we boarded so we grabbed a coffee and relaxed in the waiting area. I don’t drink coffee though so I got a hot chocolate and Harry laughed.
“Boarding all passengers to the Whitsundays now.” The lady announced over the speaker. That was us. We lined up to show our ticket, and I guess you could say I was bit nervous as I was practically shaking.
“Are you alright baby?” Harry said taking my hand in his.
“Yeah, just a bit scared.” I admit.
“About what?”
“The plane ride. I haven’t been on one since I was 3.” I state.
“Don’t worry, you have me.” Harry smirks pulling me in tighter.
The polished lady scans our tickets before we walk out onto the air tarp and board the plane. The plane was bigger than an average plane and it looked like it was boarding many passengers. We walked down the aisle of the plane before we came to a stop in the middle. I slid my carry-on bag in the overhead lockers and quickly pushed into the window seat before Harry. Harry slid into the seat next to me while mum and William sat in front of us.
