Confess

Mitch pov
M: It's okay.

She didn't reply. Instead she removed her head from my hand and looked down.

K:They are yours. I guess you are happy now.

She gritted her teeth. I knew my words were bugging her.

M:Kirst. That was a mistake. Please.

She just looked away and clenched her fist.

K: give me some time.

I sighed and nodded.

J: Come. I will take you to the baby.

I followed Jiin as we reached the room. The nurse nodded to Jiin and we were infront of a small incubator.

J: Here.

She pointed and there was a tiny baby with a pink strap on her wrist. It was a girl. A small crept out.

M:What's her name?
J: She doesn't have one yet.

I thought curiously. I reached my finger into the hold and touched her hand. She grabbed my finger and squirmed. It was an amazing sight to see.

J: She is wonderful.
M:Indeed. She is.

I smiled to her and left her hand. Jiin helped me back to Kirstie's room.

Jiin stayed outside and I was the only one with Kirst.

M: She is a beauty.

She didn't reply.

K: Her name is Julie.
M: Huh?
K: Julie. It was the name Jiin was gonna name for her baby.
M:Oh. Okay. Julie Grassi.
K: Julie Grassi.
M: That's a pretty name.

I brought Jiin to tell the name of the baby.

J:So... What's up?
K: We named our baby.
J: Ooh what is it??
K: Julie.

Jiin's face fell. Kirst and I felt it.

J:Sorry. I need some air.

With that Jiin walked out.

M:What did we do wrong?
K: I don't know.
S: I do.

Steve came in. And gave us a glare....?

S: Sorry boss but it was the baby's name.
M:And?
S: The baby died.

Oh... She must be sad and depressed. I didn't think through it.

K: Oh god. I feel horrible.

I did too. Steve went out to get Jiin.

M:We made a big mistake.

As we were discussing, Jiin came in. She smiled to us.

J: How about Jane?
K:Jane?
J:Yeah.
K: Like Jane in Tarzan?
J: Yep.

We glanced at each other. Surely it was a prettt name. Kirst agreed and our baby's name was now Jane.

J: I am gonna go get Paloma with Steve. Do you guys need anything?
M: No.

She nodded and walked out. Steve followed her quickly.

K: Mitch
M:Yes hon.
K: Do you know what my biggest fear is?
M: What is it

I sat next to her and held her hand. She didn't resist it. Instead she sighed.

K:My biggest fear is not that you will lie to me or cheat on me. Mg biggest fear is that one day you will wake up in the morning in a plain old day and instead of kissing me or cuddling, you will notice my flaws. You will notice how I have crooked nose, big mouth, chapped lips. That you will notice my stretch marks spread all around. That you find me annoying when I have mood swings or I throw a tantrum. When you come to a realizatuin where it just hits you that you don't love me anymore. This is my biggest fear.
M: Kirst..
K:I am not done.

I quietly nodded and listened. Her eyes fell with tears.

K:Knowing that I can lose you scares me to death. You are the best thing in my life. But when I become happy with you something bad happens. Something really bad. Thinking that it will hurt you maks my heart stopped.

She wiped her tears. I just sat there amd patted her hands.

M:Kirst listen. I know I mess up alot and I am so not good with words. However I swear no one could love you like I love you.

Kirst just cried and I hugged her tightly.

M: Don't worry about the bad things. I am going to stay with you the whole time.

I soothed her and soon Jiin came in holding Paloma.

P:Mommy!!!!!

She ran to Kirst and hugged her.

P:Daddy!!!!

She ran to me and hugged my knees.

J:She is pretty good with speaking now.
K:She is!!
M: Hey Paloma do you want to see your baby sister?

I held Paloma and walked to the room where Jane was.

Three weeks latair...

Jiin pov
I was all healed and thankfully Jane was out of the hospital too.

M:I finally got the carseat in!!!!!!

We clapped and Kirst chuckled.

K:Scott was good at it.

She said it and everybody shushed. I didn't really care. Of course I was affected but I wasn't gonna show them.

J:Alright. Jane is on her carseat. Paloma is on her carseat.

Kirstie got in the car and I rode the car Steve got. We both headed off and our car was silent until Steve spoke up.

S:How are your stitches?
J:Great. They are healed perfectly.

He nodded and concentrated on the road.

S: So...
J: Yeah?
S: I mean... I really like you and I don't care if you were pregnant or not. I really like who you are. So... will you go out with me?

My breath hitched. I didn't know what to say. Sure Steve was great. But I have never thought of him that way

J: Umm.. I am sorry but... I never thought of you like that. You are like a brother to me. I am sorry.

He didn't reply. Instead he just looked at the road. The silence was heavy and unbearable.

S: Okay. I am sorry. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusion. I am sorry.
J:Thanks for understanding.

He nodded and soon we arrived. I quickly ran out of the car to reduce the awkwardness. I ran to Kirstie's car and helped her to get Paloma out.

J:Here.

Mitch held Paloma and Kirstie held Jane.

K: Are you alright?
J:Huh?
K:You are flushed. Do you have fever or something?
J:No I am fine.

I will have to keep this to myself.
