Gone

Kirstie pov
After feeding Paloma I called Jiin and Scott in. They didn't talk. They were being careful.

J: So...?
K: Well I don't actually know.
S: Is it bad?
K: Yes and no. I did let him see Paloma though

They both sighed in relief. Paloma gurgled and I had to smile. She giggled as I made funny faces.

J: You are totally a mom
K: Well gee thanks

Scott laughed as we continued our pep talk. With the laugjter someone knocked on the door.

K: Umm.. come in?

The door slightly opened and there was Mitch.

M: Umm can I come in?

There was unreadable expressions written on both Jiin and Scott's face. But Mitch interrupted my thoughts by talking.

M: Or I can take Paloma so you guys can talk easily.

I kept thinking what to do. My eyebrows furrowed and I kept looking at Mitch and Paloma.

M: Or...not

He dropped his face and was about to close the door.

K: Sure. Take her

I had no idea why I was being like this again and again. He brightly smiled and came in. I helped him with the baby so that Paloma felt comfortable. After I said that she is comfortable Mitch quickly went out smiling crazily.

After a good hour or two of talking bout what to do I was tired. It was already pasy five. I wondered why Paloma wasn't still here. She should have been fed like a good thirtu minutes ago.

A thought passed through my mind. What if Mitch took her? I was scared. I quickly scrambled up from my bed. My body was stil sore.

Jiin and Scott stood up too.

J: What's wrong??
K: Paloma...

Jiin and Scott both understood pretty quickly.

S: Kirst relax a bit and get on the bed now!

I didn't follow his orders. Instead I put on my slippers and went out my room. I searched for Mitch. I couldn't find him. As I was frantically running around the halls strong arms gripped me.

S: Kirstie. Go back to bed. You shouldn't be up yet.
K: Please Scott I can't lose her
S: Jiin and I will look for him. Don't worry.

I just kept walking. Scott sighed and ran the other way. My eyes were watering. My Paloma... I can't lose her.

I ran about 30 min. I felt my breath shortening. My head was dizzy and my visions were blurry. My legs weakened and I fell to the ground. I was crying. I had to look for Mitch. Scott came runing back to me.

S: Kirstie you have to go back to bed.
K: I can't

Then the elevator stopped on our floor and Mitch and Paloma came out.
My eyes drifted to sleeping Paloma and I lost my conscious.

Scott pov
Kirst fell and I caught her before she could crash down the floor. Mitch was looking shocked and he came running to Kirst.

M: Hold Paloma

He handed me Paloma and he carried Kirst bridal style to her bed. The nurses came in and put some medication into her.

Jiin was holding Paloma.

S: You got some explanation to do
M: What happened?
S: What happened? Seriously?
M: What's going on?
S: You were gone for three hours with an infant.
M: I was just giving tour to her
S: You were gone for an year. What could have Kirstie expected?

Mitch's head dropped.

M: I.. I didn't see that coming. I am sorry. I was selfish.

I wasn't the one who was angry. It was Kirst and Jiin.

J: Mitch she gave birth to a baby three days ago.
M: I know...
J: And she ran around the hospital for 30 minutes.
M: I...
J: She was scared of you taking her away.

Jiin sighed out loud.

M: I am sorry. I... am messing up. I should leave.

Jiin's eyebrow furrowed. Shit. She is furious.

J: You are running away again.
S: Jiin
J: Mitchell Grassi
M: I... I am not
J: I didn't hate you because my friend loved you. You hurt her. Then you come back trying to get back into her life again.
M: Jiin.. I am sor-
J: There is no need for that shit
S: Jiin there's a baby in the room.
J: You freaking broke my friend's heart over and over again. You aren't capable of Paloma. You aren't capable of anyone. Even yourself.
S: Jiin you should stop
J: Stop what? I am being truthful here. He can't just come back break her heart again and leave?
S: Jiin
J: Come on everyone knows that

I felt some shifting and I saw that Kirstie was awake.

S: Kirst are you feeling alright?

She blinked a few times. Mitch quickly ran to her side and Jiin's angry glare followed him.

K: I guess.. Just tired.

She rolled her eyes a bit. Then she reached out for Paloma.

J: She is sleeping right now
K: Okay.
S: Mitch?
M: Kirst... I am sorry. I was selfish. I was giving tours of the hospital to Paloma and I lost the track of time. I am so sorry. I didn't realize what it could have made you think

Kirst was quietly watching Mitch as he stared down on his hands. Jiin was pissed. I came by her side and soothed her.

K; What do you expect me to do Mitch?

All of us were quite surprised with her question. Mitch's eyes drifted off to his hands to Kirstie's face. But Kirstie was calm. Deathly calm.

M: I... I want you to be mad. I want you to scream at me or hit me or something.

Jiin and I were getting a little uncomfortable. So Jiin signaled me.tk go out. As we slowly stood up Kirstie stopped us.

K: Well too bad Mitch. I am not going to do any of that sort.
M: Please Kirst. Please.

He pleaded as he dropped his head again.

K: I will let you come back into my life.
M: What?

Everyone's head jerked up and looked at Kirst.

K: Not as my lover but my friend.
