Depression

Kirstie pov
Time is a wonderful thing. It can be dangerous but sweet at the same time.

My head pounded and my lips were dry. I hasitately opened my eyes but squinted at the pain. Especially my abdomen pain. I was shocked. Did something happen to the babies?

J:Kirst are you awake?

I heard Jiin's voice so I opened my eyes and nodded. Jiin broughr water and I sipped on it.

K: What happened?
J: You had your appendix removed.

Oh that's why it hurts. I moved my hand to my stomach and it was flat. It was flat???!!!!

K: My babies???
J: Kirst calm down.

Jiin came to my side and soothed me. My eyes bwcame teary.

K:What happened?

Jiin looked at me sadly and I knew there was something wrong.

J: Well....
K: Oh no...

I wiped my tears and waited for her to continue.

J: Twins were crushing you rib bones and your other organs. It was hard to remove you appendix because of your baby.
K:And...?
J:They trued withiut taking the twin out but they failed. You lost too much blood and your heart stopped.

There was a silence and my heart was tearing piece by piece.

J:The doctors quickly brought your heart back and took the babies out. But unfortunately one of them didn't get enough oxygen and stuff while your heart stopped.
K: Oh my god....
J: But the other one is healthy.
K:So is the baby.... dead....?
J:I am sorry Kirst. I am so sorry.

My heart shattered. My tears burst out but I couldn't stop or wipe them. I couldn't move. I felt like my whole world stopped. I felt.... empty.

J:Kirst... do you want to see the baby??

I simply nodded and Steve came in and helped me get on the wheel chair.

J: Kirst the baby is a little early so she is in the incubater.

Jiin pushed the wheelchair where thenlights were dim and only the sound of machine was heard. Jiin knocked and doctors allowed us in.

J:There she is.

She pointed and there was a small baby wrapped with towel. She had some devices attached to her and she was breathing evenly.

I carefully reached out and put my hand into a small hole there was. I gently held her small hand. Tears burst again.

K:May I see the other baby...?

Jiin looked at me and sighed. She talked to the doctor. The doctor took us to another room. She told us to wait and I did. I played with my fingers while tear streamed down.

Soon doctor came with a bundle of towels. She lowered it.

There was a tiny baby. He had some hair but he was blue telling me I was late.

I softly cradled him in my arms. He was cold. He had a beautiful face. He resembled Mitch. Sudden realizatiom struck me. They are Mitch's babies.

I smiled bitterly. I looked at the baby and looked at the doctor.

K:Take me away.

The doctor got the hold of baby and Jiin pushed my wheelchair to my room.

J:Kirst do you want me to call Mitch?

I looked at her emptily. Sure Mitch will be happy. It's his kid anyway.

I killed his baby.

The thought dreaded me. Jiin looked at me worried.

J: Kirst I will make a call and come back

I just nodded and she hesitantly left. I was being mean and cruel. Jiin's baby died too. This is just a cruel thing to do to Jiin. But I couldn't find a strength to perform the 'I am totally fine' act. I just couldn't

Jiin pov
I called Mitch super nervously.

J: Hello?
M: Hi
J: Umm yeah
M:What's going on? Is everything okay?
J:It's Kirst. It's not okay. It's not.

I burst crying. There was a silence there.

M:Where is she?
J:She is at Operytale Hospital.
M:I will be there in ten.

He ended the call. My heart shattered. Kirst is not a strong girl. I shouldn't have taken her to see the dead baby. I am crazy.

S:Hey.

A warm pair of hands soothed my both sides. I flinched a little and looked who it was. It was Steve

J: God. You scared me.

He sat down next to me. I leaned my head onto his shoulder.

Mitch pov
After the call I felt like every single blood in my body has drained out of my body.

H:Are you alright?

Right. I was in the meeting with Hidden.

M:I have to go.

I quickly picked up my keys and rushed to the car. I tried to put the keys into the key hole. But my hand trembled and I failed.

M:Damn it!!!!!!!

I screamed out and hit the handle hard. Someone opened the car door. It was Hidden.

H:I will drive.

There was no point for argueing.

H: Where to?
M: Operytale Hospital.

He nodded. He quickly drove.

I was crazy. I shouldn't have let her out of my sight. Why am I so dumb? I will love her and her children even if they are not mine. I love her that much. I tapped on the window furiously. Kirst has to be alright.

We soon arrived. There was Steve already waiting at the front.

S: This way.

He led me to a small corridor and there was a room where it says Kirstin Grassi.

S: Before you go in I think you need some explanation.
M:Make it quick.

Steve quickly told how Kirstie has been through. I just heard it and nodded. He told me about her loss too. So I nodded and knocked on the door.

I slowly opened the door. On the bed Kirst was there. She was small. Her belly was flat. Her eyes lost the glint. It was miserable sight.

Soon she and I made an eye contact. She looked at me and dropped her head looking at the bed sheets.

I walked up to her but she still didn't look at me. I touched her face gently with my hand. I lifted her chin up with my hands.

But she wasn't looking at me.

M:Kirst look at me.

She just didn't. Her eyes were full of tears.

M:Kirst please look at me.

She did. Her eyes held sorrow, misery and finally pain.
