a/n: i'm a lil behind but this chapter is set on the 29th the day before they flew out to cali ok gtg

"You're gonna look fine, Rors. A t-shirt and jeans is fine."

"I hope you're right." She sighed, finishing off the outfit with a flannel around her waist. Twirling in the mirror, she was excited for tonight, where she would be going on her date with Matt and then staying over the house so she could fly out with the guys the next morning. Rory could see Magda getting up from behind her and grabbing her keys and phone. "You're leaving?"

"Yeah, I gotta get ready for work later." Rory nodded and hugged Magda. "See you when you come back from California?"

"Totally. I'll miss you tons and text me how the day at work goes, alright? I want to know everything."

"Of course. Love you!" Magda said before she disappeared out of Rory's room, leaving her alone with just the butterflies in her stomach.

After sneaking in their leftover noodles into the movie theater to watch War Dogs and getting kicked out for being too loud, Rory and Matt finally arrived back at the OpTic House. And oh, how she missed being here and in the working environment with a bunch of guys who were exactly like her.

"Remember! We leave at twelve tomorrow, boys! No fucking around, I'm not being late!" Hector yelled and walked into the kitchen to find Matt and Rory sitting at the island, talking about Champs and their predictions. "Rory, hey!"

Rory smiled as she saw Hector behind her and she immediately got up for a hug. They squeezed each other for a moment before letting go.

"Are we hugging or what?" Seth walked in and gave Rory a bear hug, making her tense up and get uncomfortable. "Sorry. That was out of line."

"You bet." Matt said, grabbing Rory's suitcase and placing a hand on the small of her back, guiding her out of the kitchen and down to his room.

"Why'd you do that? I mean sure I was uncomfortable but we didn't need to leave."

"Yes we did. He would have tried to apologize like fifty times." Rory nodded before falling back onto his cloud-like mattress that reminded her of all the nights they cuddled and talked and made out in this bed. They've never went all the way in his bed, though. That was for a later time, when they both were ready and actually dating, not just seeing each other. "You tired?"

"Actually, yeah. I'm gonna change and then head to sleep. You do whatever. Goodnight, Matt." She smiled.

Checking into her room, Rory rolled her suitcases to a spot right next to the bathroom and placed her key on the nightstand before she got ready to go meet Jordan and Nato to hang out with some of the other players before they had to go back to the rooms and get nice rests in before the player meeting tomorrow.

Picking the card back up, Rory left to find Nato and Sidney's room to hang out with the baby for a bit before the four of them left to go hang out with Jordan and the rest. She read the text Sidney had sent that contained the number of their room and eventually she came to a stop in front of it and smiled when Nato opened up with the baby in his arms.

"Oh my, hello!" Rory grinned at the child being placed in her arms, and she slowly rocked him back and forth, kissing his forehead occasionally. Nato shut the door behind them and Rory moved to the bed to sit down and coo at the baby. She smiled at Sidney when she gave a small wave to her, not saying anything to try and startle the baby when he was falling asleep.

One day, she thought. This could be you and Matt.
