"You are one sexy devil!" Magda winked at Rory before checking herself in the mirror one last time. They were going to a costume party at the OpTic House later tonight, and Magda insisted an angel and devil are the sexiest thing for an almost-nineteen-year-old. "I almost forgot, happy early birthday Aurora Maura!" Magda pulled out a huge gift from behind her door and Rory squealed.
"Don't even tell me you got me a new Scuf!" Rory excitedly pulled out the box which displayed the Scuf inside. It was hot pink, and it was sure to look good on her controller. "Thank you so much, Magda."
"You're welcome! I customized it just for you." Rory smiled even wider and gave Magda a bear hug, almost knocking her down.
"I love it."
"Tomorrow when we go out to eat with your family, I'll have an even better present for you. In the meantime, let's get back to your house and pig out with your parents for a little before we leave."
"Sounds like a plan."

Soon enough, Magda and Rory were on their way to the Müller household to hang out with Rory's parents before they went to the Halloween party at the Scuf House.
"We're home!" She yelled, dropping her bag on the table and taking off her overcoat and hanging it up on the hook. Rory's dad walked in and smiled, giving Magda and Rory both a tight squeeze.
"Hi, girls. We're just about to eat dinner, come join us?"
"We'd love to." Magda smiled and they sat down at the table with the family, having a nice meal of Mr. Müller's classic German sausage and apple pie for desert.
After they were done with that, Magda helped Rory and her mother clean up before they went upstairs to get changed into their costumes and do their makeup.
"We look so hot!" Rory squealed and took a quick selfie to put on Twitter.

"Okay, close your eyes." Rory nodded and held Magda's hand, which was dragging her towards the house. "We spent a lot of time planning this Halloween party."
Rory wished she could roll her eyes. "I'm sure you did."
"Hey, don't be sassy!" She could hear Magda opening the door. "Now you can open your eyes."
"Happy birthday!" People jumped out from out of the closets and various places near the front door. Rory smiled widely and yelled a thank you before hugging Magda.
"You planned this?"
"Marc and I did. We hope it shows how much we really love you." She could feel her eyes watering.
"Thank you so much."

After wandering around for a while, she realized Matt wasn't around. Her own boyfriend didn't come to her birthday party?
She approached Austin and asked if she could talk to him in private. "Have you seen Matt?"
"It's okay, not your fault. I'll let you go back to your conversation now." He nodded before waving goodbye and went back to talking to some friends of theirs.
To say the least, Rory was upset. And for the rest of the night, she sulked in the corner, drinking water. Water.
"Hey, how's the party for you?" Magda asked, plopping down on the couch next to her.
"Was Matt supposed to be here?" Magda hesitated before answering.
"No, I don't think so. We invited him."
"Oh, okay."
"Sorry. I know you wanted him to be here tonight."
"It's not your fault."
Magda stood up, and held her hand out for Rory. "Let's go back to the party, what do you say?"
"Gladly."

"Thank you for letting me come to this meal with you guys." Magda said over the classic music playing in the background of the restaurant.
"You're family, Magda. There was no way we weren't gonna invite you." The waitress came by and picked up their empty plates.
"So, Rory, close your eyes and we'll give you your gift." Her mother smiled and Rory closed her eyes tightly. She felt something in her hands, and she opened her eyes.
"Two plane tickets to Paris?" Rory was shocked. "Are you going with me to Paris or something, Magda?"
Magda's eyes looked behind Rory. "Turn around."
She turned around to find Matt standing there with a bunch of peonies in his hands. "Happy birthday, Rory. I love you."
She stood up and hugged him. "And I love you too."
