Before what even seemed to be the crack of dawn Tyler was awoken by the smell of bacon being cooked and the sizzle of a piece being set into a pan. He groaned rolling over discovering that the space next to him was empty. He groaned once again moving his hand around on the floor to find his shirt that he had thrown to the floor in the middle of the night after it had became hot in the room. Blinking his eyes awake there was no shirt on the floor anymore.
Hanna must have picked it up when she got up. He thought to himself pushing the blanket off of him forcing himself to be awake. To his shock looking at the clock that bounced around on Hanna's computer screen it was seven o'clock in the morning. It was oddly dark outside for being midsummer. The smell of midsummer rain entered his nose from the small crack in the window that the air conditioner did not cover. That explains why it was so dark. Pushing aside the curtain the dark gray clouds covered the sky pushing water out of themselves.
Tyler soon left the bedroom walking down the hallway to the kitchen finding a certain blond bouncing around the kitchen in his shirt. He smiled walking up to her and wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Taste this bacon. It doesn't taste right." Hanna mumbled holding a piece in front of his face. Tyler took the bacon with his teeth grabbing it with his hand as he took a bite out of it. It only took a few chews before he made an upset face spitting the chewed up bits into the trash.
"Just as I though. Mom let the idiot do the shopping again and he bought shit bacon. Damn him." Hanna sighed taking the pile of bacon off of the stove and placing handfuls into silver bowls on the floor.
"What are those for?" Tyler asked. "And who is the idiot?"
"These are for the boys to eat out of obviously." Hanna deadpanned looking up at him. "The dogs eat in the kitchen. Refuse to eat anywhere else basically." She dropped the last few pieces into a bowl before going to the fridge and pulling out a new package of bacon. She scanned it for a moment before nodding, she knew this brand was what they used to buy, it was always good.
"The idiot, is my brother. He isn't home much. Very rarely, but when I talked to mom last she said that he was home for a little while. He got hurt a long time ago on a hunting trip, he's not the same as he used to be, but at times he can be. From the times that I've seen him at least." Hanna sighed starting to cook bacon once again.
"Do you know what attacked him?"
"Mountain Lion." Hanna replied walking out of the kitchen. Tyler head a door open and feet and nails scratching against the wood flooring of the house. He readied himself thinking that somehow something had broke past the Mountain Ash. He calmed when he saw the pack out dogs run into the kitchen and stuff their heads into their food bowls.
"Figured that they should eat now before everyone came back so they weren't sitting at their feet begging for table scraps." Hanna said walking back to the stove and removing some of the bacon from the pan adding more.
"Where is everyone?" Tyler asked.
"Went for a run. Well besides Renee, she's feeding the horses. I told them not to wake you, you didn't sleep much last night." Hanna replied looking up at him.
"I didn't sleep much? You sure it wasn't you? You look like you could use another eight hours love."
"I'm fine. Just not a morning person. Sometimes." Hanna shrugged as they heard the door to the house open and feet trample in. "You guys better get your muddy asses into the showers now or you aren't eating." She warned them not caring to even look at them. She already knew the mess they would make.
The boys all rushed fighting for the bathrooms feeling famished. "That was fun. I've never run a more shabby bunch in my life." Kelsey laughed sitting down in one of the chairs being almost completely spotless from the mud besides a few specs that she brushed off with a wet paper towel.
"Kels you help run a bootcamp. Of course they are." Renee laughed walking into the kitchen.
"Hey, they... I've got nothing." Tyler sighed trying to defend his pack.
"Where's Ian and JR?" Hanna asked looking for the two older men.
"They are changing. They actually kept up with me. Didn't get into the mud fight with the boys." Kelsey laughed.
"The girls like taking care of the horses?"
"It was funny. The field is a mess so we were all sliding around." Renee laughed.
"Gotta love summer storms. We just have to hope nothing happens." Hanna sighed looking out the window as a loud clap of thunder shook the house. The lights flickered for a second before going out.
"Like that?"
"Exactly." Great way to start off the morning...
