It was late the night the storm started. The pack had all been asleep for a short few hours when there was inhumane sound that rung in the valley around the house, it was faint in the interior of the house, but only just loud enough for Hanna's eyes to open and reach under her bed grabbing her 17 rifle rushing to put on her shoes to get out of the house. She exited her room seeing Renee and Kelsey to their feet from their room giving her a worried look. They all ran for the back door, multiple feet soon followed after.
Hanna was the first out turning on the flashlight that was connected to the rifle, lifting to to her shoulder scanning the pastures looking for what had made the inhumane sound. It wasn't hard when she found the four sets of eyes standing in the field. She didn't think twice pulling the trigger four times hoping to drop the found animals that stood in the pasture threatening to harm the animals on the farm.
Everyone watched as two of the figured dropped to the ground with quick yelps, a third made a yelp but began to run off, the fourth never made a sound and they never saw it run away or fall to the ground. The fourth figure was gone, it had vanished.
Everyone was frozen in place looking for the last figure. It would be wrong to say they were scared, they were worried if anything. Nothing just disappears. Tyler and Dylan locked eyes. They knew this was something supernatural, what they had no idea, but Tyler couldn't sense it when it first showed up, no can he catch a sent. Whatever it was, it was very sneaky and knew what it was doing.
"Hanna, what are you doing?" JR asked trying to stop the girl as she walked out into the pasture.
"Hanna, stop." Dylan said grabbing onto her arm. She continued to walk pulling him behind her, soon forcing him to let go. It was like she couldn't stop walking, like she couldn't hear them.
"What is going on with her?" Ian asked as they followed the girl.
"I don't know. She's never done this before..." Dylan said watching the back of his cousin's head. "Except once, it was when we were little, not very long after she got bit. We were playing outside at sunset our parents were sitting watching us while talking... We were playing tag, I was it and Hanna had stopped and when I tried talking to her she ignored me and started walking out into the pasture. The horses ran from her if she got close to them, like they were scared of her. After our parents figured out what was going on they ran after her calling the family Emissary. He had no idea what was wrong with her, but the only thing that managed to stop her was wolvesbayne."
"Wait how did they have an Emissary, I mean it's not unheard of, but very uncommon."
"We have some cousins who were werewolves and two kitsunes. It's not like we were a family of Hunter's that just killed wolves for nothing; it's more like damage control. We took care of the wolves that were killing people for fun and the ones who were changing people to try and cause a small war." Dylan said looking at the back of his cousins head. "The only time the family killed everything was hundreds of years ago. Before we started having wolves in the family."
"So what do we do?" JR asked as Hanna started to move faster.
"I don't know... She shouldn't be doing this, not if she's wearing her necklace." Dylan watched as Hoechlin stopped and starting running back to the house as fast as he could.
"Where is he going?" Holland asked.
"She must not be wearing the necklace. We have to slow her down before she starts moving too fast. She'll be gone in no time if we don't!" Dylan shouted taking off in a run after his cousin. Four bodies raced past him catching up with the girl in seconds. "Be careful! We don't know if she'll fight back or anything. Just keep up with her!" Dylan looked back over his shoulder praying that Hoechlin made it back quickly.
