Chapter 17

"Do you think everyone is alright?" Tyler asked as the turned into the exit that led back into town. They had been gone for two days making sure that the animals on the Morris farm were going to be alright, as well as letting the local vet know what was going on. Once Hanna felt that they were okay to leave they bid their goodbyes and headed back to town.

"I'm sure that someone would have let us know if something happened. Renne wouldn't let Kelsey kill anyone. I hope." Hanna sighed continuing down the winding highway. They would be back at the farm in a few short minutes, but she couldn't wait. She was ready to be home, to get to real sleep where she wasn't waking up every few hours to check on the animals. She wanted to relax.

"Hanna look out!" Tyler shouted and Hanna slammed on the breaks. Standing in the middle of the quiet highway stood a large black wolf, it stared down the truck for a minute before running off into the forest. Tyler grabbed Hanna's hand looking at her, he wanted to make sure that she wasn't going to zone out and take off as she did a few days ago. She had on the necklace, that was supposed to be enough to keep anything from happening.

"Are you okay?" Tyler asks looking at her eyes. They were blue, just like an omega. Why would they be blue? If she was a wolf then they would be yellow like a normal beta.

"Yeah." Hanna sighed shaking her head. Her mind was blurry, she couldn't think straight.

"Are you sure?" Tyler watched as her eyes changed back to their normal hazel color. He didn't realize that he was holding his breath until then.

"Yeah, let's get back to the house." She said continuing down the road as fast as she could.

They were back at the house and everyone seemed on edge when they walked in. Hanna went straight to her room closing the door behind her. Everyone looked at Tyler worry covering their faces. "What happened?" Dylan asked stepping forward.

"One of the wolves was on the highway when we got back into town. Her eyes... Her eyes were blue, like mine. They changed back once it was gone and she came to her senses. Why would her eyes be blue?" Tyler was worried more now than when the event happened.

"JR and Renee go check the Mountain Ash lines. Add more to them if you can, we need to up security, they're trying to move in. They are going to do whatever it takes to get to her now. If they have seen her eyes change color, they will come for her. After they broke the barrier the other day, we need to be careful. No one leaves alone." Dylan says walking to the room he was staying in. He walks back out hold two very large jars of Mountain Ash holding them out to JR and Renee. "She must stay in the haven at all costs now."

Everyone looked at each other, things were getting serious. "Can't get just take her back to California? She'll be safe their right?" Holland asked.

"No. They now have all of our scents. If won't be hard for them to find us now. We would have to leave the country. At this point, she isn't leaving here anytime soon without being forced too. If we do that she'll know something is up." Hoechlin says looking at her door. He had heard her lay down and she hadn't moved since. She was still okay.

"I'm going to make a phone call. Call in a few more relatives. They'll know what to do." Dylan said grabbing his phone.

"Dylan." Looking up from his phone he gave Hoechlin a questioning look. "I don't know if the wolfsbane is really working after the other night. We need to find something else."

"I'll call the emissary as well, " Dylan says looking through his phone again.

"Who are you even going to call for help?" Kelsey asks looking over his shoulder.

"Her uncles from her mom's side, both sides of the family were in the business, you'll know them once you see them," Dylan says holding the phone up to his ear walking into another room.

"Everyone stay on high alert. I want to know if anything strange happens. Get that line done ASPA." Posey says following after Dylan.

"You heard him move," JR says. Renee and Crystal follow him. Tyler looks at the rest of the group shaking his head, he didn't know what to do besides protecting Hanna.

She must stay in the Haven at all costs.
