Chapter 24

It was like everything moved in slow motion, Daniel slammed the door open and they all watched as the Alpha walked into the room eyes blazing their fire red color and bearing his teeth. They all waited to see what his first move would be or to see if any of his betas would follow behind him. He was alone. "Where is the girl?" He roared.

"Right here," Hanna said unloading the shotgun into the werewolf as fast as she could. It didn't affect him.

"Now, you've pissed me off." The alpha growled lunging at her. Once again it was like everything was in slow motion as a body threw itself in front of Hanna letting itself be slashed by the alpha.

"Tyler!" Hanna screamed. Posey was laying on the ground with blood gushing out of his side.

"You have to kill him." He gasped grabbing at his side.

"Stupid fool. Only a True Alpha would be dumb enough to jump in front of a human girl." The alpha spat growling at Tyler. "It's time for you to come home, little girl. I claimed you long ago, now come."

"I don't think so," Hanna growled, her eyes burned again and she knew they were red. "You did this to me, you created a monster. Now your monster is going to take you out." He claws extended and she was ready to pounce.

"Monster? Becoming a werewolf is an honor. You should be proud to be like me, to be like many of your little friends." The alpha laughed.

"I am proud. I've been building up my strength just for this moment. I feel like you don't know this, I'm a legacy child, I was trained by the best. I am a hunter. I am a True Alpha. I will protect my family. I will protect the ones I love. I will protect the Haven."

"You are no True Alpha. You don't know the meaning of what that power has. Why do you think you were chosen? Why do you think I ever even thought of going after the daughter of one of the greatest Hunters the world has ever seen? Because I knew what would come from you. Now I will kill you for your power, then I'll kill all of your friends, but first, I'll take you out just enough so you can watch your friends and your mate die."

"Don't you dare lay a finger on them," She roared lunging at the alpha.

The alpha moved as she lunged, she only scratched his arm. "You think you can beat me?"

"Beat you? I'm going to kill you." Hanna growled throwing herself at the alpha. This time she had a trick up her sleeve, literally. She landed on his back clawing her way down. He screamed in pain but she wasn't done yet. She took her necklace and broke the bullet on it shoving the wolfsbane into the wounds.

"Never! Ever! Come! After! My! Pack!" She screamed continuing to claw and beat the man. She wasn't going to be satisfied until he wasn't breathing. She was losing her strength now, the alpha was hardly breathing and at this point, she was lightly slamming her fist down on his chest crying. She felt empty. Killing this man wasn't going to change anything, Tyler was gone, she couldn't hear his heartbeat, she felt like a monster for even thinking about killing this man.

She felt empty. She took a deep breath picking the man up by his shirt and dragged him from the saferoom. She could hear his packs whimpers from where they were waiting outside, they knew their alpha was dead. Hanna drug the man out of her house throwing him on the ground in front of his pack. "If any of you dare come back here, I will kill you. If any of you dare come near any of my pack, I will kill you. If any of you even think about my pack, I will kill you. Take your alpha." She growled at them. Two betas ran up quickly grabbing their alpha who was clinging to life. They were all gone in a matter of seconds, retreating back into the forest.

Hanna fell to her knees sobbing. She howled, she howled for her mate, for her family, for her pack. Arms wrapped around her, but they weren't the ones she wanted. "It's going to be okay. They'll get him back, he's not giving up that easy." Dylan whispered to her, holding her in his arms.

"No, he's not. I haven't heard his heartbeat in minutes, they can't bring back the dead Dyl. He's gone." She sobbed. Her mate was gone. She didn't even know what that meant until she felt her wolf finally show itself.

"They'll bring him back. Trust me." Dylan whispered looking at the pack standing around them. "Holland?" She was their best way of knowing.

"She's still down there with them. We'll hear her scream if something happens." Kelsey sighed looking at her best friend. She fell to her knees wrapping her arms around them. "They're going to fix him. Renee will fix him." Dylan had almost forgotten about the girl being a part witch, she might be able to come up with something that Misha and Seth couldn't.

Hanna's sobbing became silent, tears streaming down her face, shaking so much that Dylan and Kelsey were having a hard time holding her. When they couldn't hold her any longer she shot up, eyes blazing red, her body was changing. In an instant, there was now a light brown wolf standing in front of them. They had only ever seen Tyler change, never had anyone else done this. Posey being a True Alpha himself, hadn't even changed into a wolf.

This time when she howled, there was something different. This howl, the whole pack felt it, they felt the pain, the anger, the sorrow, they felt every emotion that she was feeling. They themselves felt different like they could change just like she had. They felt an almost need to change.

They watched as she ran into the house and down the stairs. She was going for the safe room.
