"You know for it being early summer, it sure does rain a lot." T-Pose said looking out the window with everyone else watching the summer storm rage. The winds blew so hard the grass in the pasture was laying flat, the rains were so hard they we almost positive the roof would start to leak, let's not get started on the thunder and lightning.

"Welcome to Oregon. Just because the world says what season it is, the state is going to tell it to piss off it's its own person." Kelsey laughed.

"Are you kidding, just welcome to Hood River, the weather here is almost more unpredictable here than the rest of the state." Renee scoffed rolling her eyes, the rest of the state was never like this. They wished, Eastern Oregon could use a little more rain than what it gets.

"Don't destroy the house, I'll be back in a couple of days." Hanna said running past everyone with a duffle bag in her hand trying to pull on her coat.

"Where are you going?" Dylan shouted behind her as the back door to the house slammed. "What do you think is going on? Do you think it had to do with that phone call she got?"

"I'm gonna go find out." Tyler said pulling on his shoes bolting for the door.

"We're coming too." Renee and Kelsey said running behind him.

"Hanna, wait, what's going on?" Tyler shouted watching as she backed an old 97 Ford out of the barn.

"Gotta get to Pendleton ASAP. Vet emergency." She panicked.

"Let us come with you." The girls said looking worried.

"I'll be fine, plus I need you to stay here and look after everyone, don't need them to blow up the house or anything." Hanna smiled, it didn't make them feel any better.

"Then let me go with you. Please." Tyler said grabbing her hand. She looked at him, giving a sigh. He wouldn't be help to her with what she was going to do, but maybe it would keep her clam. Maybe.

"Alright, but hurry." Tyler ran back to the house. He knew that she would need him and that he had to make sure she was safe.

"What's going on?" Kelsey asked.

"Two Mares about to have their foals within the next day, a litter of dogs, and a calf with maybe a broken leg. The local vet out there is completely packed and can't spare a couple of hands." Hanna sighed.

"So they called the only on call vet that we have in our county. Where is their on call vet?" Renee couldn't believe that their calling a vet that is four hours away.

"In the hospital, got stomped by a bull that broke from its stall while helping deliver a calf." Hanna shook her head as Tyler ran back out of the house with a bag in his hand jumping into the passenger seat. "It's the Morris ranch, they bred my mare a couple of years ago remember? They were also friends of dad, so it's the least I can do for them." Hanna shifted the trunk into gear smiling at the girls.

"Don't kill anyone." She said putting her foot on the gas and taking off.

"She is getting in over her head again. Why didn't she want out help? That's way too much for her to handle on her out." Kelsey snapped, she knew Hanna wasn't going to be able to do this on her own.

"Hey, remember she did handle five calves and two foals in the middle of the storm a few years back. She was completely alone, snowed in the barn. We're all still shocked everything lived, along with her. Hanna will be fine. Tyler is with her. He can help, he will help." Renee looked after the truck knowing her friend could do it. But still knew that she should have taken them with her. Renee had faith in her, so did Kelsey she was just too worried.

They walked back into the house to be bombarded with questions. "What's going on? Where did they go? Is everything okay?"

"Everything is fine. Sort of."

"What does sort of mean?"

"There's a ranch in Pendleton that needs a vet, the clinic is full, and the on call vet is in the hospital. So they called her for help." Renee said pushed past everyone.

"There was no one else? No one closer?"

"Don't know. They're old friends of her dad, she couldn't tell them no." Kelsey sat down on the couch looking out the window as the storm continued.

"She can handle right?"

"She can, should she alone, no."

"Tyler's with her, he'll make sure she's okay."

"We know. Doesn't mean we're not worried." When the two went quiet everyone else seemed to drop the subject and sat back down. They all stayed concerned, with the storm happening that is only going to get worse, they only hoped they would make it there okay.
