Alone again

That hurt, those words.

You sent them flying like birds.

They hit me hard.

You showed me your card.

I was mistaken.

I thought I saw your feelings awaken.

Not for me, however.

You chose a different adventure.

I'll watch, as you go on your way.

Hopelessly wishing you would stay.

We weren't meant to be.

Of this, you have made me see.

My eyes shine bright,

as I am yet again, alone for the night.
