The Dark Chill

I shiver and step forward. My breath puffs in front of my face. White clouds in the darkness.

A chill runs up my spine, as the shadows close in. Making a wall of solid black. They get closer, bringing me to a stop with their harshness.

I tender laugh bursts forth, it seems like a sin. Glowing eyes smile at me. From the depths of the darkness, he emerges.  I'm lost in the depth of shadows.

The darkness whispers, and he smiles. He pulls me towards him. I pull away, as the shadows surge. He beckons me forward, and I know I'm at a crossroads.

I turn and run, long are the miles. The darkness presses against me. The chill stays on my skin.  I know, I will never be the same again.
