The pain laces through your veins,
feeling like your continually wrapped in chains.
It comes and it goes, the pain, from each harsh word, spoken.
You wake up each day feeling like you are scared and broken.
the scars you have run deep,
but you hide them because they are yours to keep.
Every night you pray and you weep.
For a time when your scars will be healed,
a time when they can be unveiled.
It's tiring and it must be so hard when you feel as if your soul is marred.
From all the secrets kept, the silence you hold,
from all the scars that are untold.
