It was the second day for Tiffany as an employee at Taeyeon’s company, and the very first day of their new status as official lovers. The couple had decided to conceal their relationship—or more like Tiffany had insisted to do so.
Firstly, she wanted to stay professional during work. No flirting, no kissing, no making out, no intimate interactions outside work stuff, since Taeyeon would be a charming, major distraction to her, and she wouldn’t be able to resist herself if her boss were to flirt with her during work.
Secondly, Tiffany was a rookie in the company, therefore she would want to work hard so people would appreciate her for her work, not for her status as their boss’ girlfriend. She wanted to avoid being treated differently by her co-workers.
“That’s it?” Taeyeon tilted her head as she unfastened her safety belt.
“Yeah.” Tiffany nodded and turned to Taeyeon, who was leaning forward. For a second she thought the latter would kiss her, but turned out her boss was just assisting her to unfasten the belt, then pulled away. She pouted.
“What?” Taeyeon chuckled amusedly.
“No good-luck-on-your-second-day-of-work kiss?”
“I thought you stated it clearly that we weren’t to kiss during work, Miss Hwang,” Taeyeon teased as she stroked the younger girl’s dark hair tenderly.
“We’re not in the office yet,” Tiffany muttered sulkily, slowly pulling Taeyeon closer by her tie, her eyes glued on the lips. “The rules don’t apply at the basement.”
“Wow, really? I wonder who made such unruly rules.” Taeyeon smilingly rubbed their nose before shutting her eyes, enjoying the warmth of their proximity.
“Oh shut up boss, just kiss me already.”

“Date after work?”
Tiffany smiled at her iPhone which displayed the short text sent by her woman. She quickly typed back, expertly without making any typo in spite of her polished nail.
“I’d love to.”
“I’ll be at my office by then. Love you, baby.”
It was hard to prevent herself from wearing a face-splitting, lovestruck grin. She felt like a teenager in love. How could she not, after getting back together with the woman of her dream? She immersed her flushing face onto her palms before typing back.
“Love you too, boo. Xoxo.”
Just then an unfamiliar manly voice called out her name, which she in response glanced up, nervously, at the sturdy brunette man who was apparently the head of her section—the International Connections.
“Hwang Tiffany.”
“Y-yes, Mr. Buck?” Tiffany stood up reflexively upon hearing the stern voice of her superior; Nichkhun Buck, an originally Thai, yet amazingly mastered 5 languages at once; Thai, English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. No wonder he was promoted as the head section.
But it wasn’t the right time for Tiffany to admire, judging from the unamused face the latter was giving her. Uh-oh. She might be in trouble.
“I’ve come to believe..” Nichkhun spoke wryly, “..that texting your boyfriend during work would be an unprofessional attitude, a distraction and an obstacle for us to accomplish what we’ve got to do.”
I wasn’t texting my boyfriend, I was texting my girlfriend—your boss.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Buck, it won’t happen again.”
“Was it your boyfriend?”
“No, it wasn’t,” Tiffany answered as a matter of fact, silently questioning why he would ask such thing.
“Great.” Nichkhun beamed into a warm and welcoming smile, turning 180 degrees from how he had acted earlier. “Then just continue your job, Miss Hwang. You’re doing great so far.”
“Thank you, Mr. Buck. I will.” Tiffany smiled politely.
“Oh, and just call me Nichkhun or Khun—all staff in this section call me that, don’t be so nervous and formal. Welcome to the international section, Tiffany!” Nichkhun grinned in friendly manner. Well a bit too friendly, for Tiffany’s likings.
“Thank you again, Mr—I mean, Nichkhun. I will do my best.”
“Fantastic. Nice outfit, by the way.” Nichkhun left Tiffany’s desk as he winked on his way out.
What the.. Was he—
“He’s hitting on you, my friend,” the co-worker beside her, who had been quite the whole time, suddenly spoke. Tiffany turned to the beautiful blonde woman beside who was already facing her with a cynical smirk.
“Oh, wow, I think he was just being friendly.” Tiffany blinked, shaking her head slightly.
“Believe me, I’ve been through it, too. He’s cute but that doesn’t work to me.” The woman shrugged, before extending her hand with a cheerful smile. “By the way I’m Wendy. Son Wendy. Nice to meet you, Tiffany!”
“Nice to meet you too, Wendy,” Tiffany beamed back as she accepted the handshake gladly.
“Oh, and one more person that you should be aware of.”
“Who is it?”
“Our director.” Wendy giggled as she returned to her Mac. “She can be flirty and naughty sometimes, but unlike with Khun, I never mind her being like that—I mean, what do you expect? She’s sweet, cute, smart, incredibly hot; the epitome of perfection.”
Tiffany raised an eyebrow at the latter’s statement, contemplating between keeping an eye on this Wendy girl or on her girlfriend.
“What does.. she like to do?” Tiffany forced a smile, her question came out slightly muffled as she released it through her clenched teeth.
“Touching some certain parts, saying pick-up lines—uh wait, why are you curious? You’re hitting on her as well, aren’t ya?” Wendy turned to Tiffany with enormous amount of mixed excitement and curiosity, her eyes wide and twinkling.
Tiffany just responded with a bitter smile before excusing herself, feigning to be busy, when in fact she wanted to bang her head on the wall. It was just her second day of her work, yet her superior was hitting on her and her co-worker was hitting on her girlfriend.
Moreover the sizzling hot news about her Taeyeon’s infamous habit of flirting with her employees—oh really she had to deal with it later.
