Tiffany entered the bar a few minutes earlier than Taeyeon, in order to avoid any suspicion from fellow co-workers. It was already crowded and heated inside—music was loud and the flashing lightings weren’t really helpful that made Tiffany wonder whether it was a bar or a club.
Nonetheless, everyone looked like they were having the time of their lives, so Tiffany didn’t really plan to make a fuss about Taeyeon’s choice of venue.
As soon as she stepped on the creaking wooden floor of the vintage-decorated place, she spotted Wendy around the long table nearby the bartender with some other co-workers; Yoon Bora, Go Hara, and some she hadn’t recognized, but she was interested to. So she decided to join them. Socializing had never been hard for Tiffany, since with her wide knowledge, witty and bubbly personality, she could blend easily like a social butterfly she was.
Little did she know, someone had been watching her.
Time flew and Tiffany gradually felt tipsy and high due to the alcohol, so she excused herself—which earned a few groans of disappointment from male colleagues who seemed to be interested in knowing her more—to clear her hazy mind and calm her upset tummy. Leaning back on the cold wall and sipping on her iced tequila slowly, she let the liquour taste lingered on her lips as she had her eyes locked on the woman who made the party possible—the reason of the laughter, celebration, and euphoria; Kim Taeyeon.
The said CEO was visibly laughing along with some of her employees, with a glass of clear vodka on a hand, occasionally patting their shoulders or backs with the other hand, as they laughed at her jokes or she did at theirs.
A smile crept on Tiffany’s face upon watching Taeyeon’s warm interaction with her employees, who seemed comfortable yet respectful at the same time to her girlfriend. If she were to describe it in one word, then proud had to be it.
Tiffany was losing her track of time when finally Taeyeon looked up; their eyes met in spite of the dim lighting. She could feel her cheeks blush when the latter smirked and ran a hand through her blonde locks, like a charmer she was.
Damn it, Kim Taeyeon.
Tiffany couldn’t lie that all of their sneaky, hidden relationship would sometimes turn her on even more, as Taeyeon always found a way to tease her discreetly. Her blurry eyes were wide open when Taeyeon slightly cocked her head toward the door—not that obvious, but clear enough for Tiffany to get what she meant; the after party.
The dark-haired woman hastily put her empty glass—now filled with nothing but ice cubes—on the nearest table and headed to the door.
Although walking steadily with her heels in that dizzy state was utterly difficult, Tiffany still managed to take her phone out of her purse and immediately dialed her girlfriend, to ask where she had parked the car earlier. Whilst waiting for the other line to answer, a drop of rain poured on her head. Soon another followed until it eventually became small drizzle.
Tiffany silently cursed how the parking lot had oh-so-poor lighting installed despite of its vast area; sense of direction had never been her forte, but there she was, looking for Taeyeon’s car while trying her best not to drench herself under the pouring rain. A hand above her head was a reflex albeit she knew it was useless.
She waited and waited, rather impatiently. Her head felt feather light, as light as her feet, and the only thing she wanted that moment was snuggling against Taeyeon and holding her close; being soaked wet and cold under the rain was definitely not close to it.
Not to mention, the dark surroundings made her shiver once in a while. She looked around and did not find anyone but herself, guessing the others were still absorbed in the party. The darkness and trickling rain only made her want to get away from the place as soon as possible. When finally Taeyeon picked up, there was a wave of relief brushing her.
