- Lmao hope y'all liked Victoria's little chapter. Honestly I love writing for that character since in real life she is my best friend. This chapter is first person from the reaper Tessa. Enjoy her perspective on taking Hemlock's soul. -

In a way, humans have caused the most change and the most damage. They are stubborn creatures of habit. They fight and scream and cry over what? Over life. Over religion. Over love. Over their ways of thinking. Humans are reckless, dangerous, stubborn, spiteful, and ridiculous.
Yet, they still find a way to band together, they still find love in the hardest of places. They still reach the light and hold onto it for their lives. They grip as if they are never going to let go. That's what I'm currently witnessing as I pass through these different universes.
No matter what world I am, someone is holding onto someone. As I stand here in front of this bright soul, I see a faint light in her hands. She's holding onto to this hope. Onto someone who can no longer hold onto her.
Red curls that look like fire drape over her arms as she cradles him. I stand there, not sure whether or not I dare to step into this moment. Into this unforgettable moment. As she brushes away the curls, her own hair slipping over her shoulders covering her tear streaked face.
She's stunningly beautiful, her heart beating loud enough to drown out the sound of silence. Beating for the both of them. I've seen this before. Over and over again, but this doesn't feel painful. It's full of relief and hope.
Hope for what? Hope for a better future, unlikely. Hoping the limp body will one day be full of life? Maybe, she's right. Someone has a plan for her. For him. For them. I kneel down, then glance at her for permission. She just nods again.
A smile shyly playing on her lips, "Can you guarantee he's going somewhere good?"
I tilt my head, "Do you mean Heaven?"
"He wasn't much of a spiritual person, does he still go?"
"As a reaper, I do not have a specific religion. I just pick up the soul and let whatever religion they have take over. But he was a good person. He'll likely go somewhere special."
She continued to stroke the boy's face, still cradling his cold body. I looked at him, he looks frozen in time. As if something can awaken him from his slumber. There is still a light in him and I have yet to see anything more.
"Have you seen his ghost?" She stared at me from behind her tossed and flowing hair.
"No."
"What does that mean?"
"There's..." I don't want to say hope. It could mean that another reaper beat me to it or the soul was banished to hell or purgatory. "I truly do not know, love." I cross my legs and sit in front of her, opening my arms.
She seems hesitant to let go, stubborn. Then she moves him gently into my arms. I can't stop admiring her, she's so gorgeous. Her eyes shining with the tears, exhaustion taking away any light from her. Her soul so bright, light blue dancing through her heart. Like a dragon protecting her heart.
"Hello," I hear a male's voice whisper. I see him standing behind her, but his body is still in my hands. "I'm dead. Too soon? Or is this what fate has decided for me?"
"Yes, you're dead. I'm truly sorry. I have no idea what Fate has planned for you. To be fair, Fate has nothing to do with you. Someone else does."
"He's here? But I thought..." She shivers. The boy has his hand on her face. He's caressing her cheek. . "
"I thought the same, where were you?" He shrugs, his attention is caught up with her. His soul glowing a rich green. A snake winding around his heart, squeezing it. He is fading. It's not his time, I feel relief as well.
He looks at me, "I am still alive. I feel connected to this world. To that body, but something is blocking me from doing anything. Tell Victoria, my answer to earlier is yes." His body fully gone. I did not know the question to that answer, but I believe it isn't meant for me to know.
"Yes. His answer to earlier is yes." Victoria's smile grew wider as her eyes filled to the brim with tears of joy. I put the boy back into her arms, "I will not be taking him today."
Her eyes looking at me with shock clearly on her face, "Are you serious?"
"Not his time, he just can't enter his body."
"So he's in a deep sleep?"
"Take good care of your sleeping beauty." I pick myself off the floor and a flutter of wings appear behind me, "Ah. They are here."
I didn't have to look behind me to realize the two powerful beings in the room were Castiel the rebellious angel and Gabriel the archangel. Their breathing was laboured, they must have been searching for their humans all over the universe.
Victoria didn't meet their eyes. A breath of relief can be felt from Gabriel, but Castiel is stuck staring at the young boy's body. They know who I am, they know why I would be there. Castiel put the pieces together.
"Tessa..." His voice full of worry, fear, and pain. I turn on my heels and shake my head. His eyes are wide. Blue orbs, grace flickering. "Tessa, don't take him. He's important to our mission."
I raise an eyebrow, "he's important to just the mission?" His eyes avert my gaze. Knew it. "No. I will not be taking him. He's here. My job is done, do what you can to save him. Do call me if it is his time. I want to be able to walk him myself."
Castiel simply nods, Gabriel long gone from my sight. From what it seems like, he is already holding Victoria. I walk past Castiel. If my eyes dare deceive me, I swore I saw Hemlock smiling at me from within the building as I take one last glance. It's not his time. Yet...
