"Yes, baby. Whatever you want...I'll give you whatever you want."

Harkness begins to rush toward their apartment without a single backward glance toward the place he had called a personal hell. He would easily call this place "hell" since his wife had been kept here against her will, not to mention brutalized. He would never forgive himself for not being in the warehouse sooner or realizing what was really going on at the time. He will have to find a way to make sure that at least Kara forgives him for this horrible crime. He knows that he should find a way to make sure that he is forgiven but what should that method be?

He cannot seem to help but wonder in his mind about this fact as he holds Kara especially close to him. He will have to make sure that neither of them leaves the apartment without the other one even if that means he has to surgically attach himself to her. In fact, he wouldn't mind that possibility in the least. He would be attached to the most beautiful woman in this world and that thought makes Harkness smile in spite of himself as he enters their apartment. He does not remember the route he took to get back here, nor does he remember opening the door to the place.

He is just relieved that he is now able to cuddle with his wife on the sofa, which is what he moves to do in this moment. He lies on his back on the sofa and places Kara on his chest as he cuddles as hard as he possibly can. He cannot seem to help the way he murmurs "I'm so sorry" over and over again into her ear as he buries his face into her soft blonde hair. He clutches at Kara as if he cannot seem to grip her tightly enough, though he is quite certain that she will not mind this fact in the least.

He is more than certain by this point that she is clutching him just as hard as he is clutching her. But then why wouldn't she after what she has just been through? He has to bite his lower lip to keep from letting out a soft whimper of emotional pain at the thought of what Kara must have gone through at the hands of the Joker. Would he ever ask her about it at any point in the future? In fact...would she even wish to speak on the matter? He shudders violently to think of what she might say if she even wants to talk about what the Joker had done to her so callously while Harkness himself was sitting on the couch.

He knows that he will never let the possibility of a situation like this one ever arise again since he loves his wife too much to let her be harmed by anything. This is his fault...isn't it? He was so close to losing the only woman he could ever love in this life because he almost didn't act quickly enough. Doesn't that make this entire situation his fault in the end?

Kara clung to him tightly. She had learned a few things about the world that Boomer lived in and it broke her heart. He was not deserving of such cruelty and she knew what the Joker had done to Harley. She could never blame him for what she saw him do to the Joker and she knew the male harlequin had deserved what he had gotten. Harley had been a normal person until the acid had ruined her life. Kara knew that she would let her go on doing what she thought was her form of justice, exacting it on those that had taken her life from her. As for Boomer, he had done nothing wrong so she did not blame him for anything that has happened today or any other day for that matter.

"Why didn't you tell me what your world was like? What happened? That poor girl....how could the Joker.....what he did to her was cruel. I understand so much now. The things that push people to become villains. Then I sit up on a pedestal of self righteousness.....Boomer, I love you more than ever now. I hope you know that. You saved me from the Joker. You saved Harley from his cruelty a well. In my book, you are a superhero of a different kind. I had no idea that villains had a reason to their madness at times. I just thought I was supposed to keep them from from committing crimes of any sort. That won't happen anymore."

She remained clinging to him tightly. The world Boomer lived in was different than hers on so many levels and now she realized that she loved him even more than ever. She could never be angry at him for the things he did that society thought was wrong. He had his reasons and more than likely, he was in the right to be doing those things. Though she could not know what he was thinking, she did know that none of this was his fault. She was not seriously hurt and her eyes had been opened to the other side. Something that the Joker had not intended to happen when he carried out his plans.

She could feel how tight Boomer was clinging to her....almost to a point of her not being able to breathe. But then, this was what she wanted. She had been away from him for too long and if someone tried tearing them from each other's arms again, she knew that they would not want the wrath that was exacted on them if they tried. Boomer has wicked aim with those boomerangs and with a gun he was deadly. She had strength and abilities that would put fear and pain in anyone's heart if they tried. Together, her and Boomer were a force to be reckoned with.

"You did nothing wrong, love. Nothing at all, and I want you to know that. You were protecting me and Harley and making sure that he would not wreak havoc anywhere else. To me, that is a hero. You are my hero. That is all that matters."
