A Psychotic Boomerang

Chapter 11: Clark Kent's Arrival

Captain Boomerang is quiet for a moment as he looks down at his wife. He had not been expecting Superman to actually try finding them at their apartment. He cannot help but wonder what Kara's cousin could want with the two of them since they had done nothing wrong. He wonders why Superman would come out of his way to their apartment, though he knows it must be important to the Kryptonian. He has no idea how long it has been since Kara has seen her cousin but he knows this situation cannot be a good one either way.

He shudders to think of what will happen to him now that Clark Kent has come all this way just to speak to his cousin in Boomerang's arms. Are they even going to let him in or will Clark find a way in himself? He has to keep himself calm so that Kara does not see the panic in his dark blue eyes as he looks down at her quietly after a moment of inner hesitation. His voice is quiet as he speaks to her in a dark tone of voice.

"Are we letting your cousin in or are we going to leave him just standing out there like a douche? I don't want to give the man the wrong impression of me but I don't want to die yet."

George almost laughs at the second comment but he knows better than to do so in front of his wife. He knows that Kara is taking this situation all too seriously, especially since this is her cousin on the other side of their damned door. This thought brings a grim look to George's facial features as he looks at his wife with an intent look on his face underneath the grim mask. He knows that this situation must be treated delicately or they might both perish at the hands of the man known as Superman.

He most definitely does not want to die yet since he has yet to formally meet his child. He definitely wants to see his child be born and go through school. He shudders to think about the marriage of his child but he would put those thoughts off until a later point in time. He wants to put off feelings of old age for as long as possible, though he is only in his 30s by this point in time. He has a ways to go until he is quote-on-quote "old" so he feels a little bit better at that thought.

He just hopes that Superman lets him live long enough to at least see the birth of his child. He wants to be able to love his child for who they are since they have brought their parents even closer together. He smiles at the thought of what this child has done for them only for the smile to be wiped clean of his facial features as he realizes the danger he could very well be in at this point.

Kara sighs and calls out to her cousin. She tells him to use the key and not to break the door down but she is not about to let go of Boomer. She has been separated from him one too many times. This was not how she wanted Kal-El to find out that she was married to a villain but honestly she doesn't care at this point. She watches the door handle wiggle and then the door opens. Standing their in his business suit and glasses, his eyes wander around the room until they spot Kara in the kitchen being held by none other than George Harkness himself. His eyes narrow slightly and then he notices Kara clinging to him for dear life. 

"Kara, what is going on here? I have not heard from you in some time. I came to make sure you are alright and I find you in the arms of the en...."

"Stop right there, if you say that word I will whoop your ass and you know I can do it too."

She growled at her cousin as she spoke; you could tell that she was feisty. Kal-El apparently knew that too, which was why he quieted down for a moment. Then he spoke again. 

"Please explain to me what is going on. I don't understand."

His eyes never left Boomerang as he spoke, nearly boring into him. He didn't understand this whole situation; Kara was sent here to help mankind not assist the villains in the world. So his outlook was not a happy one as he narrowed his eyes once more at Harkness.

"It isn't what you think and no, I will not let him go. He is something that you will never understand and I am in love with him just like you love Lois. I am stepping down from being a super hero for nine months. This is the happiest I have been in a long time. Please don't ruin it for me."

Unable to wait any longer, she grabbed a piece of buttered toast and took a bite. She knew it would take a moment for her words to sink into her cousin's brain. He was smart and all but she knew that he was going to take a moment to figure out that she and Boomer were going to have a baby. When it did sink in, he sat on the armchair heavily almost busting it. She could see resignation in his eyes. He was not going to pummel Harkness after all. He knew Kara was level headed and would not make rash decisions without a good reason behind them. He glanced at Harkness.

"Will I get to be in the baby's life?"
