Chapter 41: No Other Way

Captain Boomerang does not stop the smile on his face as he watches Kara with a certain amount of glee. He couldn't seem to help himself when it comes to Kara since he does love her more than anything else in this world. This woman above him is giving him the family he never truly had so he knows just how much he owes her: the world and all its makings. He wouldn't have it any other way and he knows it. He knows that he needs to give her the life she deserves in this world.

Who else would be able to give her the world she deserves? Plus...would she allow anyone else to approach her in such a manner? In Boomerang's mind, he knows the answer to that question already before the question is finished traveling through his mind. He knows that Kara would never allow another man to come close enough to her to give her the world, let alone give them the time of day. He cannot help the shudder that wracks his entire body at the thought of someone else loving on her in the manner that he is using now.

He would rather die than let someone else TOUCH her, let alone make love to her. But would she really let them close enough to touch her? He highly doubts it since he has always been close to her. He had never expected Kara to ask him for their first session but there had never been a single complaint uttered from his lips. Why would he complain when it had felt so good to make love to her even then? She had been his from the very beginning and he had not even realized the truth of the matter at that time.

He can see it clearly now and he is glad to be considered her husband. He is glad that she has placed a claim upon him and his body since he believes firmly now that his body belongs to her. He would never give it to anyone else and he damned well knows of it by now. It doesn't even bother him to think that she owns him in some way since he knows that she will never hurt him purposefully. This thought makes him relax into the pillows as he reaches out with a single hand.

He tangles his fingers in her soft blonde hair and massages the scalp very gently. There is a tender smile on his lips, which is highly unusual for him to even display to her. He believes now that she deserves the utmost of tenderness from her husband, no matter what the situation may be at any given time. He wouldn't have it any other way since he does enjoy her presence in his life. She is his rock even without her super-powers, which had never received much thought from him at all. He knows that she is stronger than him in some aspects but he doesn't really care about that. His first thought is of her and her well-being, especially since she lets him protect her. Why would he want that fact to be any different?

Kara relaxes completely in his arms now as she drifts off to sleep. She is tired from the day and is extremely happy in his arms. The way he is playing with her hair relaxing her more than ever. She is still hoping that he remembers to talk to Harley about being able to live forever but while she is sleeping, she cannot remind him to do it. Then she knew that he would in one way or another and she would probably sleep right through it. The thought of him possibly being like her was a hope that she had. 

She began to dream about him and the baby as she slept. A smile cross her lips as she snuggled even closer to him. How could she not love the idea of being married to him now and the fact that she was carrying his child? She knew would be a an awesome child at that. She wanted to be sure that they could give him or her  the opportunities that they did not have when they were tiny and let him fully feel the love of both parents. That fact alone was exciting for her as she felt happy that they were going to have a child. 

Her hand continued to lay gently on his chest as she felt his heartbeat underneath her hand. She loved to feel the heartbeat and even now in her sleep she could feel his chest puffed up for her to reach easier. His gentle touch made it that more relaxing and she realized that she has put her full trust in this man that she loves. She would give her life for him as well as trust him with her life, which she is now doing. He has never hurt her, not have they had any type of a verbal disagreement of any kind so far. She hopes that this trend continues. 

Kara knows that she is not perfect and that she makes mistakes but she loves Boomer with all of her heart and would do anything for him, given the chance to do so. But as it stands at this point he was not going to let her lift a finger to do much in the way of physical work for a while. He was the perfect husband and she loved him for that mere fact alone, though she was going to try, she didn't think that she would win out on that one. He has given her everything else that she has ever wanted. 

Sometime later she opens her eyes and looks around and looks up at him. He doesn't seem to be asleep but she wonders if he has made the call to Harley. She doesn't ask as she is still half asleep as she lifts her head to press her lips to his in a gentle kiss. She whispers softly to him now, letting him know that she no longer has her superpowers.

"The pregnancy somehow has block my superpowers. I will need you more than ever to protect me. My enemies cannot find out or we will be in danger. Will you take care of us until my powers return?"
