Nicki POV
"Baby" I heard jumping out my sleep seeing meek standing in front of me. "Damn baby your eyes bloodshot red but the doctors are coming to get Camryn so I'm sorry to wake you but it's time to get up" he says as I rubbed my eyes stretching. "You scared me by the way you were shoving me Rihmeek. I thought something had happened" I say sitting up wiping my mouth from slob.
"Damn meek you ain tell me I was slobbing all out the mouth and shit" I say as shrugged. "Must was sleeping good then" he says as I sighed. "I really was because you must've been calling my name for awhile with the way I jumped up. Pass me my bag so I can brush my teeth please" I say as he walked over to the closet. "You were sleeping good though which is understandable since you didn't sleep at all yesterday." He says passing me my bag.
"Where's my mom, Aryn, and Jay" I ask walking to the bathroom. "They went to go get some breakfast, and before you ask yes they getting you something too" he says as I quickly brushed my teeth drying my mouth and face before coming back out. "I'm actually not hungry though" I say as he walked over to me pulling me into his arms. "But daddy wants you to eat" he says as I sighed looking up at him pouting.
"But I'm not hungry daddy" I whisper as he leaned down kissing while squeezing my ass. "You're eating some food and that's final" he says as I sighed pulling away walking over to Camryn's bed. She was up laying on her side with her back facing me as I sat down beside her. "Mommy I'm scared" she says turning over now facing Rihmeek and I as he came over.
"Don't be Camryn. You're very strong and such a strong fighter that God is going to bring you through this. Mommy, daddy, Aryn, Jay, and grandma will be here when you're done. And let's not forget all the visitors you'll have at our house the next day" I say as she smiled hugging her teddy bear. Soon there was a knock at the door as my heart dropped.
Lord knows I was so scared and nervous but I knew my baby girl will be in good hands and everything else now is in gods hands. "Alrighty Ms. Camryn we're all ready for ya" Dr. Wilkerson says coming in as I stood up allowing him to take her bed. We followed them all the way down to the operating room as they were getting her anesthesia ready. "Okay mommy and daddy will be right here until the medicine makes you fall asleep okay" I say as she nodded her head.
Meek and I held her hand as they placed the mask on her face. Watching her eyes drop lower and lower until she was finally asleep we kissed her head before being escorted out. "This will take 90 minutes, so an hour and thirty minutes the most but depending on if her appendix ruptured then it'll add more time so that we can clean all of that out. Your daughter is in good hands and we'll be sure to keep you guys update" the doctors says as I nodded trying to hold back tears.
"Thank you" meek says grabbing my hand as walked down to the waiting room. "She'll be good baby, she's a fighter" he says as I nodded my head letting the tears fall. "Come here" he says pulling me into his chest leaning against the wall as I cried my eyes out in his chest. "I just want her to be better meek. I don't like seeing my children in any kind of pain and I wish I can just talk all of this from her" I cried as he rubbed my back.
"I know baby but we gotta be strong for her. God chose us to be Camryn's parents for a reason so although she's fighting in that operating room we too have to fight just as hard" he says as I calmed down. "Love you" I say looking up at him as he looked down at me wiping my tears before pecking my lips. "I love you too baby girl" he says as we made it to the waiting room seeing my mother holding Aryn and Jaylen holding a bag I'm guessing my food.
Sitting down meek wrapped his arms around me grabbing my food as I shook my head no. "I don't want to eat right now Rihmeek" I say as he sighed sitting back so I can get comfortable in his chest eventually going to sleep.
One hour 30 minutes later
Meek POV
Camryn's surgery was successful and now she was being taken to the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) until the anesthesia wears off. Nicki's mom took Aryn and Jay with her so it was just me and Nicki waiting on our baby girl to wake up. "While we wait for the anesthesia to wear off let me quickly inform you both on some things you'd like to know" Dr. Wilkerson says as we gave him our attention.
"With an unruptured appendix, Camryn's recovery time is relatively quick. The morning after surgery, clear liquids are offered. Once those are tolerated, the diet progresses to solid food. Once the Camryn is eating and drinking, the intravenous is removed. Physical activity, such as getting out of bed, begins on the same day as surgery or the next morning. Most patients need medication to relieve the pain in and around the incision. The smaller incisions of a laparscopic procedure often cause less pain than the large incision made in open appendectomy." He says informing us.
"The nursing staff continues to monitor her for signs of infection and checks that the incision is healing. Patients with uncomplicated surgeries usually leave the hospital 1 or 2 days following surgery so she'll be able leave by tomorrow. Now once you go home I want you to check the incision site. It should be dry and the wound should be completely closed. If the incision drains blood or pus, or if the edges are pulling apart, we should be notified immediately. Fever and increasing pain at the incision site also should be reported back to us." He says as Camryn started to squirm.
"Normal activities can be resumed within a few days, but it takes 4 to 6 weeks for full recovery. Heavy lifting and strenuous activity should be avoided during recovery. Antibiotics and pain medication will be prescribed, they should be taken as directed. The open procedure leaves a scar on the lower right side of the abdomen that is a few inches long and fades over time. Scarring from laparoscopic appendectomy is minimal." He says as Camryn finally opened her eyes.
Nurses immediately went over to her checking her vitals as Nicki and I stood back watch. "Well we thank you so much doctor for getting us the be treatment to make our baby girl better. We will be sure she takes her antibiotics and pain medicine as directed" I say as he smiled. "No problem. Once they're done checking her she'll be rolled down to her room." He says as we nodded.
"I'll be in and out checking on her as I see about my other patients for the day, again get well soon Camryn and I wish you the best recovery" he says leaving the PACU. "See baby girl you did it. Told you mommy and daddy would be here when you wake up except your brother and sister went with grandma but they'll be back" Nicki says kissing her cheek.
"Alrighty she's stable enough to go back to her room now" one of the nurses says as they got ready to roll her down the hall. "I'm so happy everything went well Rihmeek now she just gotta recover and I can finally relax" Nicki says wrapping her arm around mine interlocking our hands as we followed the nurses back to Camryn's room.
