"Baekhyun!"

Sehun threw his backpack off his shoulders and rushed to his friend, shutting off the cold water from the shower head. As he crouched over Baekhyun he tried to identify where all the blood was coming from. He checked for a pulse on the boy's neck and sighed with relief when he felt it but he was so pale, there was so much red. Where was his wound?

"Baekhyun? Yah Byun Baekhyun! Can you hear me?"

One of Baekhyun's eyes slowly opened, then closed, and his head lolled. Sehun realized most of the blood was soaking through the sleeves of his friends t-shirt so he carefully rolled them back.

Baekhyun's wrist were bleeding from heavy gashes. They looked carelessly cut into his skin like huge red stitches. He most likely sliced into the veins on his wrist...either accidentally or on purpose Sehun didn't know.

But he knew he had to help him.

Squelching the nauseous feeling that was beginning in his stomach he hurriedly unbuttoned his uniform jacket and stretched the white t-shirt underneath, until it ripped. Using the strips of white he tied the fabric tightly around both of his wrist to slow the bleeding.

"Lee Hwa!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. "Lee Hwa call 119!"

Trying to avoid pulling on his hands and opening the cuts even more, Sehun put his arms under Baekhyun's and hauled him up. The other boy was lighter than he was expecting and Sehun nearly tripped dragging him out of the shower.

He carefully pulled Baekhyun out of the bathroom as quickly as he could, yelling for help the whole time. Just as he prepared to open the doors to the hallway, Lee Hwa came through them. It took her only a second to analyze the situation and she whipped out her cellphone while Sehun laid Baekhyun on the floor.

"They should be here soon," the old woman looked close to tears. "What should we do?"

Sehun checked his pulse again and tightened the shirt around Baekhyun's wrist. "Is there anyone else in the house that can help us?"

She shook her head, her eyes glued to Baekhyun. "N-no, the mistress and fired them all. I'm the only one left. The man you heard earlier on the gate is a recording."

Sehun cursed silently. If they only had more people they could move Baekhyu--

Suddenly three paramedics burst through the door and pushed Lee Hwa and Sehun aside, gently putting Baekhyun on a stretcher.

"What's your blood type? We're going to have to preform a blood transfusion." One of the paramedics asked as Sehun followed them to the emergency vehicle.

"O," Sehun replied as everyone loaded into the back of the ambulance.

They blazed through the streets, lights flashing and alarm blaring, racing towards the hospital. The paramedic had a tube connected from Baekhyun's arms to Sehun's, taking the blood needed to get his pulse normal. Finally his adrenaline rush slowed and the tears built behind Sehun's eyes.

He studied Baekhyun's pale face and brushed the hair back from his eyes.

"Why would you do that to yourself Byun Baekhyun?" Sehun whispered to his unconscious friend, "What if I hadn't gotten there in time...?"

The ambulance suddenly came to an abrupt stop and people were in the back of the truck, disconnecting tubes and transferring Baekhyun to a different stretcher. Sehun hung onto the rail of the stretcher until they rushed the other boy into surgery. Lee Hwa began to cry and Sehun comforted her although he was slowly crumbling on the inside. Something awful had been going on in his life that he had hid from everyone, even his best friend. Sehun somehow felt responsible as he sat in the waiting room. He had always thought Baekhyun's life was perfect and problem free. He was wrong. He patted Lee Hwa on the back gently and leaned his head against the wall behind him.

Now, he would wait.
