Hours Earlier

"The platinum one, definitely," I smiled at Isabelle.

"You're right. Demons dig the blonde,"  My parabatai, Isabelle, said.

Let me introduce myself.  I'm Samantha...Samantha Wayland.

Now, I could give you my whole back story about how Jace is my twin brother.  That our father was murdered by a man name Valentine. That the Lightwoods have been kind enough to take care of us like we're their own. How Isabelle's my parabatai and Alec is Jace's...that would take me years so...

Anyway, we had to go on a mission tonight. A few mundanes have been found with their blood drained. At first we thought it was vampires, but vampires aren't this messy. Some even clean up after themselves so it wouldn't get tracked back to them.

I turned off my curler and sat down on the bed. "You know I'm right. And the platinum will drive them insane."

She smirked at me as she adjusted her dress. "Like Alec will when he sees you in that dress."

I sighed

I sighed. "Will you give it up? Alec and I are just friends...best friends."

"But you want something more."

I groaned as I fell back on the bed. "No. I never should have told you about the kiss."

She shrugged her shoulders. "He was your first kiss. That was an important day for you and me."

"Izzy, we were ten."

"And you said - and I quote - Izzy, I love your brother."

I was about to speak when Alec's impatient voice interrupted us. "Isabelle, Sammy, let's go."

I got up and followed Izzy out the room.  She was twirling the wig in her hands. "Hey, big bro."

Alec was looking at my outfit up and down making blush under his stare. He snapped out of his trance - me not noticing the small blush on him - and looked at the wig in Isabelle's hands. "Really?"

Izzy smirked. "Why can I say? Demon's dig blondes. Just ask Sam over here."

"Of course they do, but that's white."

"Platinum," Izzy and I said simultaneously.

"And they don't exactly like Shakespeare, ok, Alec," she added.

"You're plenty distracting on your own,"  Alec said.

"So, she needs to be herself," I smirked.

Alec rolled his eyes at me. "You're pretty distracting, too. But you should probably go change."

I looked down at my outfit. "Why, is it bad?"

"No - no, it's not. It's...never mind. You both look good."
