After the redheaded mundane/Shadowhunter left Pandemonium, Jace went after her. She got attacked in her home and got some demon poison in her system, so she's been out for two days.
Jace told us everything that happened. And that the girl's name is Clary Fray. He left me and Izzy on redhead duty. The girl was passed out still, so I decided to train for a bit.
I held the wooden pole in my hands and spun it around a bit. Then, I swung one end towards the dummy's head and spun around to use the other end on the ribs. I kept changing the pace. Slow to fast, from fast to normal. I kept going like that for a while.
"Need a sparing partner?" Alec asked from behind.
I turned to see him spinning his own pole in his hands. "Can you keep up?"
He smiled. "We'll see."
I smirked at him before I swung at him. He dodged my attack. Alec tried to hit back, but I turned to the right and hit his side. He hissed before he tried to take another swing at my legs, but I jumped over it.
We kept blocking each others hits for a while. I faked swing to the left. Alec fell for it and was going to block it, until I ducked and knocked his legs right under him.
He was going to fall back, but he grabbed my wrist. I fell right on top of him and we started laughing.
"Is someone losing it?" I teased.
Alec smirked. "Maybe I was going easy on you, Sammy."
"How many times do I have to tell you, it's Sam?"
"You'll always be Sammy to me."
I smiled at him, hoping he doesn't see my blush. He smiled back and we just stared at each other. Izzy's right, I'm in love with him. But I know nothing's going to happen between us. And nothing will. I mean, he's one of my best friends. I don't want to do anything that would screw it up.
I snapped out of my own thoughts and got up. "I should, um, probably go check on Clary. She might be awake by now."
"Do you really trust that mundane?" Alec asked as he got up.
I shrugged. "I don't. But I trust Jace. And if he says she's a Shadowhunter, then I'm not going to question him. And the evidence is very clear that she is one."
"You really trust Jace?"
"He's my brother. Of course I trust him." Alec raised his eyebrow at me. "I do. And you've got to admit, it's nice to see Jace focus on something other than himself."
Alec chuckled. "Fine. Go check on the mundane."
I pulled him for a hug before making my way towards Izzy's room. I rolled my eyes when I spotted her looking at Clary.
"She still out?" I asked.
Right when she's about to answer Clary shot right up, colliding her head with Izzy's. I started laughing while they rubbed their heads. I might not trust her, yet, but I like her already...if that makes sense.
"And she's up," I smiled.
Clary looked at us with wide-eyes. "Wait, I don't know -"
Izzy cut her off with a smile. "I'm Isabelle and that's Samantha. I've never seen Jace so curious about a mundane...or distracted. Like you saw earlier, distractions are dangerous in our line of work."
"Well, she can't be a mundane if she has the sight and if the seraph blade lit up when she touched it. Plus, she doesn't even know what our line of work is," I added.
