Weasley's Wizard Wheezes: Draco

Note: in this au Harry is not with Ginny.

       Draco walked down Diagon Alley a month after the Battle of Hogwarts. His path seemed to clear before him as he went, as wizards of all sorts recoiled from him. An occasional "muggle killer" or "death eater scum" was thrown his way, which he tried to ignore. He rubbed at his dark mark, as if desperately trying to peel it off, to be rid of that part of him forever.

       He had only wanted to protect his family.

       When it became too much for him, Draco ducked inside the nearest shop: Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Business had died down since the Battle, due to George's reclusiveness; and the shop was mostly empty. Whoever was behind the counter was kneeled down, looking for something in the many drawers beneath.

       Draco thought he might as well look around, as long as he was here. Fake wands and skiving snackboxes filled the shelves. Nothing seemed of interest, but he picked off a fanged frisbee from a box and took it to the desk.

       "Could I have this rung up?" Draco said. A green eyed boy with glasses peaked up from the desk. It was Harry Potter. Draco's brow furrowed, surprised to see his nemesis. "What are you doing here, Potter?" He said. "I thought one of the Weasleys ran this place."

       "I'm helping George, like a decent human being." Harry said, looking up at Draco. His scowl dropped off into blank lips and eyebrows knit with concern as he watched Malfoy's face. Draco's eyes were sunken, and he looked empty. "Not that- you're not- a decent human being."

    "Just ring it up, Potter." Draco said.
