(Kira's POV)

I wake up to my alarm blasting music right in my ear. Damn why is it so loud? Even for a silly little iPhone 4 it's super loud. Which I suppose is a good thing but not when you first wake up and you jump out of your skin. I pick up the device before clicking the little button.

"Oh my God!" I shout, it's eight-thirty and my shift at the coffee shop starts at nine! How could I sleep until eight-thirty? I wasn't up late last night. I was only up until eleven-thirty. It may seem late to some people but in retrospect eleven-thirty is pretty early for a seventeen-year-old. I jump out of bed, literally before whipping a towel off the shelf. I run into the bathroom and strip before stepping into the shower. I turn the water on hot but scold myself before trying to adjust it quickly. I wash my hair with my favorite shampoo then rinse it out quickly.

I take my bath scrunchie and squirt some body wash onto it and wash myself. I rinse down quickly and get out. I got to walk and almost fall on my face from the slippery floor, and I look at my phone. It's already eight-forty-five! I dry my hair with the towel then put it into a loose ponytail. My hair was always long and thick so I just think it's better to have it in a loose pony tail than a high and tight pony-tail. I go over to my closet and search for my uniform but come up short.

"Shit not again," I sigh, this happened last week too, it was downstairs in the kitchen. I won't ever figure out how it got there. But now it's happening again and I was sure I put it in here. Maybe it's in my laundry basket! I run out to my room and dump the laundry basket out and scatter through it, again, nothing. How do you lose a uniform? After about five minutes of looking for it, I finally find it under my bed, why there? I have no idea. It was probably my room-mate I love her to death, but she can be kind of weird sometimes. Like not weird but not normal, it's different.

Her name is Sashene. It was funny the way we met, I had just arrived in England a few days before and I was in desperate need of something hot to drink. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, anything that was warm because the cheap motel I was staying at was terrible. It was cheap and I needed a place to stay and I had no other choice. I didn't have much money, only what my parents could give me along with what I saved up to get here. But I wandered around the city a little bit, walking seeing sights in the distance but only looking for a bistro or coffee place and then I found one.

I went to the counter and greeted whoever was there, I ordered and then stood and waited for my coffee, when they called my name I went to walk to a table toward the door and bumped into her. The coffee slipped from my hand and went down her shirt, but she did the same thing to me she stained my favorite top. I wasn't mad, I sort of just laughed at how we did the same thing, after a couple minutes she laughed too.

We both apologized to each other and then we got to talking. She told me that she was currently looking for a room-mate, just someone to help with the rent a little and maybe a friend to talk to once in awhile. She is originally from England but never made any friends. She was friendly, trying to make friends but no one really got attached to her. I told her that I was looking for a place to live and would love if she considered me. I know you don't just meet someone and move in, but we talked for a few hours that day. And I didn't move in right away it took me about three weeks to move.

She said she wanted to get to know me better, which I was totally fine with, I mean I would want to know someone before I let them move in. What if someone was some weird killer or a rapist or something? Anyway I got all moved in and it was difficult at first because I still was looking for a job and trying to find myself a car, but now I had the responsibility of rent, and half the light and phone and cable bill. But after a couple days of looking around I saw that there was almost nothing I could do. The one day when I was looking around, Sashene was with me and she mentioned the coffee place. She was a regular there, and she knew the manager, so why not? It wasn't that far from the apartment and I could walk until I found a car.
