“Juvia you’ll be late!”, my mom scolded. I grabbed a piece of bread and headed towards the door. My name is Juvia Knightwalker, my mother’s name is Erza and my father is Jellal Knightwalker. They’re my foster parents. They said my parents died when I was small. I don’t really have any memories until a year ago. My childhood is a mystery to me but I don’t make it a problem to live my everyday life. I have a mermaid friend who I’m meeting at the sea from time to time. Our close relatives visit us every holiday as well. It seems I have a cousin who is a spirit medium, Saya and her father, Ryo is a blacksmith on another town. There’s also Shana, and Aria who transferred here just recently., I discovered I have the power to control water and I’m still working on it until now. School has been tough especially the exams coming up.

“Juvia!”, some of my classmates shouted. Today’s the first day of our new semester so we should be gathering at the gym.

After morning gatherings, we’re free to use our time until 10 so I decided to stay outside the buildings and enjoy the sun. I held my book and started reading about ancient mythology. I love reading different stories and myths about the Kingdom of Extalia. Its stories amazed me and I feel somewhat nostalgic with it.

The weird thing is, I dreamt of that place for a very long time now. It’s like I was actually there doing something but I always forget what I was doing when I wake up the next morning.

“Juvia!”, I stopped to look who is calling me. I saw her by the riverbank.

“Cerina! What are you doing here?”, I asked.

“Visiting you of course. So how’s school?”, she asked.

“Still as usual”, I said.

“You’re still reading that book?”, she pointed to the book I was holding: The Mythical Kingdom of Extalia.

“Yeah, I love it”, I smiled.

“Really? It’s good you found something worth your time”, she said.

“Heh? What do you do instead of swimming?”, I asked.

“Nothing”, she laughed. I joined as well.

“Being a mermaid is a good thing. I’m glad you’re my friend Cerina”, I said.

“I’m glad too. Good thing you were able to talk to me. I thought you wouldn’t come back here. You freaked out when I show myself to you before”, she said.

“Well what do you expect? I didn’t actually believe you exist. I mean I only read about you on books like this”, I said.

“Well enough of that, it’s getting late. You should really be heading home”, Cerina said.

“You’re right. I’ll talk to you on Saturday alright?”, I said as I ran towards home.

“Alright!”, she replied.

“It’s good Juvia is living a normal life now”, Cerina said.

“Hehe you lost!”, I said. It seems I was enjoying on a game with someone.

“You cheated Juvia! That’s not fair!”, a boy’s voice rang on my ears. As I look to him, his face is blurry.

I closed my eyes tightly. When I opened them, I saw the familiar ceiling on my room.

“That dream again”, I groaned as I sit up on my bed. “Who is it?”, I thought. That faceless person always shows up in my dreams.

“Juvia hurry!”, my classmate, Cherry shouted. We ran at the corridor and down the stairs. I made a turn too quickly and bumped into someone. I figured that I was about to fall from the stairs from the sudden impact.

“Oh no!”, I managed to shout out. I was readying myself for the painful impact on the stairs but it didn’t happen. I can feel someone’s hands snaking on my waist so I opened my eyes to see.

“Are you alright?”, a voice rang my ears. That voice is familiar to me, so soothing, I feel secured just by hearing it. “Juvia?”

I looked at him with disbelief. I sighed with relief but I can’t still know who he is. His face really brings out something in me that I can’t figure out.

“You….”, I choked out.

“It’s good that you’re alright. Do be careful”, he said. He steadied my body out from danger.

“Juvia!”, Cherry shouted again.

“You’re friend is waiting for you”, he said with a smile. Without looking away from his face, I nodded. I turned around and walked away to where Cherry is.

“Gosh Juvia! You talked to him!”, she said. I was confused.

“What?”

“You actually talked and was saved by Gray! He’s like the hottest guy in our school! He transferred here last week and he’s already popular!”, Cherry said like a fan girl.

“Gray?”, I repeated. “Gray? I heard that name before”

“Gray look! I saw a pebble!”

“Gray I made friends with a mermaid!”

“Gray look out!”

“Gray!”

“Gray!”

“Gray”

“I will always be here for you. Even if you forget, I will stay with you”

“Gray, even if I forget everything, I’ll definitely fall in love with you again”

I looked back to look for him.

“Cherry, go without me. Tell the teacher I don’t feel well!”, I said and ran like I was running for my life. I didn’t even hear Cherry’s complains.

“Gray?”, I searched. “Gray!”, I opened doors and went outside the buildings. “Gray!”, I ran and ran. “Please, I want to see you….let me see you…”, I thought. “GRAY!”, when I turned around the corner, there he is, standing out on the open field, looking up to the sky.

“Gray…”, he looked back at me with shock.

“Juvia..”, his face questioning.

“You know me, don’t you?” I started.

“Juvia…..”, he said as he walks toward me. “You…”

“Somehow, I can’t remember you at all. When I calls out your name, I feel something but I can’t remember”, I was crying and I can’t even tell why. “Why can’t I remember anything? It feels like I know you. It feels like I have something to tell you but I can’t remember at all….I know….there’s something important I have to tell you…..”

“Don’t worry. Juvia, don’t cry”, he wiped the tears from my eyes.

“Gray…Gray….Gray…”, I said over and over again as I look at him. “I want to remember…I want to remember you”, I said. I’m not sure why but I want to remember something about him. “I’m sure you’re important to me. I can feel it! Don’t leave my side”, I gripped his hand. He slammed me to his chest and hugged me.

“Alright”, he said as he hugged me tight. “I’ll stay close as possible. Even if your memories won’t return”

“If my memories don’t return….let’s make new ones…..Gray”
