Elixir had gone to speak with Jessica and that gave me time to do my own investigations.
The case against us needed to be water tight....I know it was a mistake taking the pills from the surgery but I am quite the forgetful type and I didn't anticipate them getting into the hands of someone else...especially what subsequently happened between Elixir and her sister....she would hold that to her eternal shame and my guilt too.
I then remembered that despite leaving the surgery there was a chance that my login for the computer system would still work, I knew from when the last doctor left the surgery that she was able to access her account information for a while.
It was worth a go.
Going upstairs to our room I opened the laptop and clicked the icon for Internet Explorer...I did not particularly like this new version of windows but needs must....and besides the computers in our medical professor were quite archaic and slow anyway.
Once I had the site and clicked on username it was a simple case of entering my master password.....there was a lengthy pause.
Damn processor speed....slower than a asthmatic ant carrying two bags of heavy shopping.
I was in.
I had to hope that no one was on the system and could potentially be waiting for me....we had previously discovered that certain emails were being accessed and changed....that was quite an embarrassment.
I entered Incognito mode and put the name of the white pills into the system.....I knew from previously accessing the system that there was only one website....however I got a shock.
Someone else had been accessing the site recently.
Obviously I couldn't discover who had been looking but it was clear that the file had been accessed.....it made me think of Chloe....but she wouldn't have that sort of access....no, it had to be someone else.
The main reason for my visit was to try and find out who was responsible for the manufacture of the product.....not being in the medical profession now meant that I was unlikely to be able to follow up and go to the company.....unless it was under a subterfuge....a covert operation.
What I hated most about medical jargon was that a simple document sometimes ran to hundreds of pages.....permissions.....rules and regulations....laws.....names of medical personnel.
I was looking for just one piece of information.....but it was eluding me.....there were so many menus and sub menus....I was losing patience.
And then I found it......I also discovered who had been accessing the page recently.
Firstly.....the name of the company responsible for the product was listed as Franks Pharmaceuticals....they were local.
I didn't connect the name of the company until I saw the record log of who had accessed the file....it was none other than Doctor Paul Franks himself.....the man who had replaced me at the surgery.
I quickly printed out the form with the name and address of the company....I would have to look through my list of contacts and see if I could speak to anyone there....I had a feeling that Dr Franks would be unreachable....it was too much of a coincidence that the pills were being presented as evidence at the appeal.
