Rose's POV

It had been 3 days since I found the strange-bird-man-thing and the storm outside had started raging down upon the Island of Koud with everything it had. It was beautiful, yet terrifying to know that the storm outside would kill you if you weren't properly prepared to walk outside.

I had slept with Elliot in front of the fireplace, since the birdman had occupied my bed. Which even though it was a king sized his legs from just below the knee down didn't fit on the bed and I had to stack the large oak trunk with pillows and a blanket just to make sure he didn't catch anything from getting cold feet. The bed was way to big for me but I had gotten it because I had enjoyed sleeping on the whole bed, but something smaller wasnt big enough so I opted for bigger, no one else was going to sleep next to me though.

I stood in the kitchen feeding Elliot and Bruce the breakfast as I looked over the schedule for that day. Lqter that morning there would've be an hour break in the storm so I planned to go out and feed and check up on everyone within the barn. It was boring this time of year when storms like this broke out.

I was very much an outsdoors person being inside, having to do nothing all day, was rather difficult as I ran out of things to keep myself occupied with.

After making sure the 2 of them wouldn't fight over food I headed back to my room to check on my patient. Me, expecting him to still be in there, unconscious and immobile walked into see the bed empty. After walking all the way into the room, I stopped at the foot of the bed, scratching the top of my head thinking I had gone crazy.

That was until the door slammed shut behind me.

I stood frozen as the room suddenly felt colder that it was outside before I slowly turned my body to face the door. As soon as I faced the other way something wrapped around my neck and pushed me onto the bed so hard it knocked the wind out of me.

"Where am I?!", the large figure above me demanded, his long fingers curled around my neck, his hold on me tight but it did not cut off my air supply.

I gasped trying to catch my breath, inhaling deeply.

"Answer me!", he demanded, shaking me slightly.

"You're on Koud Island", I said as I tried pulling his hand off my neck.

"How did I get here!?", he asked, snarling at my struggling form.

"I don't know how you got here but you crashed near here a few days ago! You were injured so I brought you here since a storm was brewing!", I yelled, pointing towards the window before continuing to try and pry off his hand.

"How many days are a few?!'"

"It's been three days", I answered as I gave up on getting his hand off.

He was silent as he stared down at me with a thoughtful look on his face. The silence was filled with the sound of the crackling fire and the sound of the wind whipping the snow and trees around. The atmosphere was tense and I could hear Elliot scratching at the door and meowing for me let him into the room.

The sound brought the stranger out of his thoughts.

"What's your name?"

"Rose".

"That's a pretty name", he said, looking as shocked as I felt by his own statement as he looked like he was about to catch himself, yet the words slipped through.
