Luna POV:
I woke up to a soft warmth around my body, the fire would've died in the night so I'm a little confused to what the heat is so I look next to me and see Natsu fast asleep with his arms around me! I slide my self from his arms and flex my muscles that have gone stiff with sleep, looking at the dying embers of the fire I pick up some twigs and place them onto the fire and then think of what to make for breakfast all our supplies were used up on the way to here and last night we ate some things from my garden.
So I slip on my black boots and jump off the cliff sliding down with my arms tucked to my side, the wind whips around my face blowing my hair out of my face. I reach the bottom and go set snares just like I would when dad and I were here together, and then run around the mountain. My lungs are on fire from not doing this for so long but I keep going and by the time I get back I've caught two fat rabbits so I skin them and pick some vegetables from my garden which isn't in too bad a shape after so many years, so with my goodies in my arms I climb back up the cliff and set a rabbit stew simmering over the flames.
"Something smells good..." Natsu says in his sleep.
I give him a nudge and wake everyone else up too.
"Morning everyone, the stew will be cooked in about thirty minutes so get washed in the springs while it cooks." I say and smile at everyone.
"Morning Luna, where are the springs?" Lucy asks.
"Follow me."
I lead the girls to a warm spring deep within the cave and lead the boys to the spring a little closer to where we've been staying. I take a quick bath in the spring that I've always used and change into some clothes that were too big for me when I lived here, tan shorts with white lace around the bottom and a white t-shirt. By the time everyone has come back the stew is served in crystal bowls, only because they're the only ones I have here.
"This smells just like one of Mirajane's soups! I bet its delicious." Wendy says smiling.
"Thanks Wendy, all the stuff is fresh. I caught the rabbit this morning when I went for a run and the vegetables are freshly picked from the garden." I say tucking in.
Everyone sits eating happily and then Happy asks to do the dishes for us, he smiles at Carla while he asks and I'm guessing he likes her.
"Ok but be careful with the bowls, their very fragile. Trust me." I say smiling.
"Aye sir!" He says and carries them all to the pond.
"So Luna, tell us about your history in this cave. Does it have any magical properties?" Erza asks.
"Well when dad found me I was five years old, it was right after the house fire killed my parents but at the time I didn't know. So dad took me in and we lived here for many years, he trained me in dragon slayer magic and other small spells but I was also trained in survival skills. I know how to catch and kill my own pray, how to find water, and how to navigate by using the stars." I start.
"Wow thats awesome!" Grey says.
"I was also a keen learner so once I knew how to read I would always go to town and buy books, dad came with me a couple of times but not often because people didn't like him. So I taught my self how to make potions and adapted some of them so they would work on Dragon Slayers, just like my motion sickness potion. The cave does have magical properties though the crystals can be used to heal small sicknesses like colds and stomach bugs, and there is a sacred crystal hidden deep within these caves that is said to be as old as the earth its self." I say and then shudder.
"Something the matter child?" Carla asks.
"Just remembering the times where Z would come and see me..." I say and wrap my arms around my chest.
Twilight walks over to me and places a paw on my knee, I take deep breaths to try and calm my self down but those memories will always haunt me.
"Want to talk about it?" Natsu asks.
"Leave her Natsu." Erza says as I stand up and walk deep into the caves leaving everyone behind.
I reach a small area where the larger crystals are and start punching one, I keep going ignoring the pain in my hands. The sweat is dripping from my body and I keep punching the wall in the hopes of burying the memories deep within me.
"Zeref, Zeref, Zeref." I keep saying and then feel a hand on my shoulder.
"Stop." The firm voice says.
I pause mid swing and then feel my legs shaking.
"We have bad pasts too you know, those events can bring us down or build us up." Erza says from behind me.
"How did you find me?" I whisper.
"Natsu has a strong nose, he wanted to come in himself but I wouldn't let him." She says and looks at my fists. "Wendy will heal those for you."
"No. Scares show that you've lived and had to defend your self, it shows your strong." I say and walk to a small fountain of water, I place my hands in the water and curse as it sings my hands.
"Tell me what he did to you Luna." She asks me.
I stay silent.
"When I was younger Zeref hurt me too." She says.
"Huh? He tested you too?" I ask eager to hear how she dealt with it.
"No but I was forced to build the R-System to revive him, when I was a child people thought that Zeref was dead and wanted to revive him." She says. "His followers too people from nearby towns and forced them to build the tower, we were punished and beaten almost every day."
"Why are you telling me this? I wasn't forced to build something, I had my power sucked from my body while I tried to resist. The same day every year he would do this to me, my magic is my life force Erza and it would be taken from me. Some days I just wished it would all end..." I say and she pulls me into her arms.
She holds me tight while I shake with rage, but she doesn't run away scared of me. She just holds me almost like she knows what I'm talking about.
"Lets go Luna, back home." She places a hand on my guild mark. "Where your brother and sister are waiting.
