Chapter 14

Erza POV:

As we leave the cave for the final time Luna places her hand on one of the rocks that are now blocking the entrance and the is s soft sizzling noise, she moves her hand from the rock and there is a dragon symbol.

"What's that for Luna?" Grey asks.

"Its a warning, people will know that a dragon lives here and wont enter." She says and wraps bandages around her cut knuckles. "Lets go."

"How do we get down?" Lucy asks looking over the edge.

"Well I'll slide down like I normally do, and you can try it too if you want." Luna says pulling her boots tighter around her feet.

"I'll slide with you, how is it done?" I ask walking next to her.

"Me too, Me too!" Natsu yells.

"Just jump!" Luna yells and then slides down the cliff face gracefully.

I jump and slide once she has reached the bottom and its harder than it looks, its difficult making sure that my feet don't get caught on rocks and other cracks in the rock. Natsu however is just rolling down the cliff because he slipped when we stared sliding. We reach the bottom and Happy, Carla and Twilight carry Lucy, Wendy and Grey to the bottom, Luna stand there smiling at us and then laughs when she see's the state Natsu's in.

"Natsu if you couldn't do it why try and end up hurting yourself." She says walking over to him and helping him up.

"You could do it so I wanted to do it too." He says like a five year old.

"I've been doing it since I was little Natsu." She says placing her hands on her hips.

I pick up some of Luna's bags and then we make our way to the train station, the train pulls into the station so after checking the bags we all climb into our compartment. The exceeds sit on their owner's laps while Lucy pulls out Plue and Grey and I just sit there.

Luna POV:

Twilight passes me a small potion bottle and I tip the contents down my throat, instantly the sick feeling goes and I can enjoy the train journey, Lucy has used one of her silver keys to summon a spirit who sits on her lap eating a lolly pop.

"Um Lucy what's that?" I ask pointing to the creature.

"This is one of my spirits, his name is Plue. Say hello Plue." She says to him.

"Pun Punnnn!" He says happily.

"Well its a pleasure to meet you too Plue." I say understanding what the spirit is saying.

"Don't be silly child, now read a book or something instead of communicating with the spirit. You know you need to keep up with your studies." Twilight says to me.

I sigh and pull out one of my books, its a book on the history of Magnolia that I picked up some years ago. I begin to read and instantly get strange looks from everyone.

"What?" I ask confused.

"Why do you listen to her? I mean enjoy the time you have where you don't have to study, besides once we get back you'll be able to take jobs." Grey says pulling off his shirt.

"Because she has to study hard if she wants to join the council." Twilight says.

I blush like a tomato then, its one of my biggest dreams to become a ten wizard saint and then be on the council.

"You want to become a council member?" Erza asks.

"Yeah, I want to use my magic to help people and change what they think of me. Even people who don't know my magic are scared of me, I don't know why but I want to change how people see me." I say closing the book.

Erza nods and then pulls a Lacrima from thin air.

"Whats that Erza?" I ask looking at it.

"Don't worry about this, its a communication Lacrima. I'm going to tell master that we'll be coming back to the guild soon." She says and steps outside the compartment.

I look out of the window and run my fingers through my hair, Natsu keeps looking like he's about to be sick on the chair opposite me so I pass him one of my potions hoping that it will be able to help him. He gladly takes it and the effects are almost instant, for a couple of minutes.

"Why didn't it last long?" He asks holding his stomach.

"Its because its been made for me, but don't worry when we get back I'll make some for you." I say stroking his head.

The train pulls into Magnolia Station and we all climb off the train, I take a deep breath of the fresh air and then help with my bags. And then we start the walk to the guild hall, its a little further from where everyone said it was last time but I still love it. I run through the guilds door and smile at everyone.

"Hello! We're back!" I yell.

Some say hello and others just smile, Mirajane walks over to me smiling and takes some of the bags from me.

"How was the trip Luna? What's happened to your hands?" She asks looking at the bandages.

"Oh um its nothing really..." I say placing my bags down in one of the spare rooms in the guild hall.

"Tell me." She says in a firm voice.

"Wow scary. I punched a crystal and cut my knuckles on both hands. But no biggy." I say flicking my hair.

She sighs and then takes one of my bandaged hands in hers, she pulls off the bandages and then takes me to the kitchen where she cleans them and adds disinfectant onto them, she then wraps them in fresh new bandages and gives me a kiss on the head.

"Thanks Mira." I say softly.

I then walk away from her and walk outside the guild hall, I climb up a tree and sit there watching the day go by. I didn't think it would be this hard going from just me and dad to an entire guild and my long lost family, the way I was raised was nothing like they were raised...And I cant help but feel that Z is looking for me, or at least he wants my magic.

"Why is everything so complicated all the time, why cant my life just be simple..." I say aloud sighing.

"When is anyone's life simple?" Someone says from below me.

I tuck my legs around the tree branch and swing my self so I'm hanging upside down looking into the Onyx eyes of my pink haired friend.

"Hey Natsu." I say looking at him.

"Mind if I join you?" He asks pointing to the branch.

"Can you get there? Its quite high."

"Just watch me." He says smiling.

I swing my body so I'm back on the branch and then I hear some cursing and groaning as he makes his way to the branch. With a pull and a shove he is finally sitting next to me.

"So what's not simple Lu?" He asks smiling.

"Lu?" I ask confused.

"Yeah! Your nickname! I call Lucy Luce, Grey Ice Pants, Erza Deamon..." He goes on and on listing nicknames.

"I like it, no one's ever given me a nickname before." I say smiling.

"So tell me what's not simple." He asks.

"I thought that being here would be easy, I thought it would mean that I didn't miss dad as much but..." I start. "I miss him like crazy..."

"I know how you feel, we all do. Us dragon slayers aren't like other people, most people can still see their parents or at least can visit them if they've died. But we don't know what happened to our dragons, and that will always weigh down heavily on us, but I have this to remember my dad." He says pulling off his scarf. "This was given to me by my dad before he left me, and when ever I look at it I remember him and know that I'll see him again."

"I have this from my dad." I say showing him my necklace. "He said it would always protect me."

"Guess our dads are looking out for us, from wherever they are." Natsu says and places a hand on my head.

"Thanks for listening Natsu." I say and we just stare at the blue sky.

"No worries Lu."
